I felt that about a week or so after my WLS. It went away about a week later. Don't know what it was but I was going to call the Doc if it lasted any longer than a week. I remember, when I was pre-op, Bridget saying that a lot of people have pain in the left side after WLS. So I didn't worry to much about it. Man did it hurt though. I felt like I couldn't move at all. I am 2 weeks out now and I only have pain when I sneeze

I developed a sharp pain between my shouder blades. Turns out that I now have arthritis of the spine. Oh well too much to do to worry about it, pass the pain killers.

Jackie or Bob:

A lot of people (including me) had left-side pain after surgery. Of course, I asked my surgeon. He said that the "old" stomach is sutured to the abdominal wall on your left side (to keep it out of the way and stationary). That can be the reason for the pain. However, if the pain becomes severe, continuous, or lasts for a longer than a week or two, consult with your surgeon. In fact, you may want to consult with your own surgeon anyway.

Strictures and pouch pain are usually midline.

Good luck with your post-op journey.
