Default Back 2 Work

Well, today is my first day back to work, and I feel great. My extra week off was a blessing! I've gotten nothing but hugs and compliments. It feels weird for people to tell me I look "great" but I like it. Especially since it's only been 2 weeks.

I've been asked just how much I've lost, which I can't answer because I haven't weighed yet -- but will do that after work today.

I got up this morning to a temp. in the 30's so I wanted a long sleeve t-shirt, which I don't have any of. But my wife does. So for the first time in God knows how long, today I am wearing a 2x shirt and it's loose on me!

What an amazing journey!

Glad your feeling great and back to work! 2X? My, my my, what 2 weeks can do! Don't weigh too often! You'll drive yourself nuts with the scale! I don't own one so I have to either weigh at my grandparents or at work (it's a scale to weigh parts, it weighs up to 1,000 lbs but is amazingly accurate!). Don't sweat the numbers, my friend!

Oh, I'm not...I don't sweat that much anymore anyway!

I chose not to weigh, because I've learned from you all that the scales CAN drive you crazy. I will keep up with it, but not obsess over it.

And yes, pre-op, 4X was my shirt size. Now I'm in an Old Navy tee?! GET OUT!!!!

Default Congratulations!

Congratulations! I'm really happy for you but a little jealous that I'm on my 3rd week out of work and still suffering with nausea and just not feeling right. Hopefully, I'll be able to feel like this has been an amazing journey for me soon enough.

Brooke, don't get too down. I'm sure I'll have a bad spell sometime. Just keep your head up and know that you've got a lot of people who care about you -- right here! It's not been easy for most -- but it's the hardest/best thing we could do for ourselves and out loved ones!

Don't give up hope -- you'll make it and be back on your feet before you know it!

Ohhhhhhhh I bet that was great to get into a 2x! I am smiling just at the thought of you feeling so good wearing that. I can't wait to see how your dr. appt goes today. I am going in for my surgery at noon today so I will catch you on the flip side and follow your progress. I love that we can all learn from each others feelings and progress on here. Try not to work to hard on your first day back!

Vertigo (don't know your real name),

Thanks so much for the encouragement. Thanks for reminding me of how important this really is. I almost cried. I'm very emotional right now, I guess.

It's Andy...and I understand. I just want you to know that, despite the fact that our roads have been different, you are not alone on this journey...
