Peanut Butter
Being 2 weeks out, for me, means that I can start having soup. With tomato soup, I like a little peanut butter (dunno why, a childhood thing) and so I bought me some sugar-free peanut butter.
Just wondering, since I see so many speak of peanut butter, if short-term post-ops are eating regular ol' PB or is that only long-termers? I don't mind the SF PB, it had Splenda and tastes great!

Usually were allowed SF peanut butter or all natural PB. Be careful with the tomato soup. Alot of them are loaded with sugar.

I would suggest letting it heat up to a liquidy mess before eating, if you'er on the full liquid diet phase.

Yes, the soup I made sure was not loaded with sugar. Put a spoonfull of PB in there, let it melt, enjoy! I didn't give into the temptation to make a PB sandwich and let it soak in the soup before eating...
I'm scared of bread, being only 2 weeks out today.
Some people, though, seem to enjoy bread.

Bread is a tricky thing for me. If it's toasted, I'm fine. If not, i feel like I ate rocks. You are no where near ready (my opinion) to be even trying to eat bread yet. I didn't try until about 4 mo, then again at 6, and now I have discovered toast, but i can only handle about a half a piece and I only do whole wheat. I want good fiber not crap! Try the all natural stuff, it's really good! My hippie parents were big into it so thats what I grew up on. If you've ever had regular, I guess it's hard to switch. Personally, I don't like the regular stuff. My doc said to get a spoonful of peanut butter on a spoon and lick it off. I never did it but, it might be a good idea lots of protein!

Yes, I love PB and it cures my sweet tooth in a heartbeat! So on a spoon it goes and I savor it for a while.
As for bread, I don't know WHEN I'll ever be brave enough to try to -- no hurry though.

No doughy bread for at least 3 months! If you stick bread in water and it turns to glue, well, you don't want that in yer belly. Toast, crackers, and chips are genreally okay as a soft food. When the moisture is sucked out, then it doesn't get gummy. Even now, I will only have one or two bites of bread. Then I pick out the meat and veggies to finish the meal.

My favorite snack in the afternoon is the cheese and peanut butter crackers. Just have to take time to chew. The package has very few calories and low sugar.
