I felt the same way and thought I would never get my energy back. This is normal. You are taking in less calories and you just had major surgery. I remember getting in the shower only to get out and lay down on the floor. I felt weak for a long time. Make sure you are taking your necessary vitamins and you keep hydrated. Take it easy and baby yourself through the weak times. Try and take a lot of cat naps.

I am dealing with the same thing now too. I have to rest between tasks. I can't walk far without feeling tired. I hope it goes away when I am off the liquid diet.

Just try to take it easy. I still have weak days where I just can't hardly get going or keep going. You are very restricted calorie wise and it makes a big difference in your energy level. This will pass soon and the weak spells will get further and further apart.

Hey JEN --- You need to just take it easy. At nine days out I felt like I was still dead. I thought I was going to bounce right back and feel wonderful in 2 weeks and it just didn't happen. I'm alot older than you, but it took over 6 weeks to get over that tired feeling and took almost 2 1/2 months to feel like I hadn't been hit by a truck. I just had to keep reminding myself that I had just had MAJOR surgery and my insides rearranged. All of a sudden about 2 weeks ago, I just started feeling really good and had more energy. It's so important to get as much liquid's in too. I know it's hard, but keep it up. You'll feel better soon.

Default Am there too

One of the reasons I came on the forum this morning is because I feel like crying all the time because I'm so tired. I'm 20 days post-op...

One of the things my dietician told me prior to surgery, too, was that about 2-3 weeks out, I'd have a few days of hormonal surges, as all the estrogen stored by my body fat would start flooding the body. Maybe that's whay I want to cry?

Plus a couple wandering gas bubbles made sleeping last night impossible, even with a dose of Lortab. Thus adding to the tiredness.

I just keep saying "this too shall pass" and hoping for the best...not much help right now, I know, but you do have company.

Oh, I am so glad Im not alone. I do have more energy today thankfully, but now one of my incisions is infected. I saw Kelly today. She prescribed antibiotics and I go back tomorrow. Hopefully we wont have to open it.
Thanks for all your replies!
