Default Taco Bell and more

I have found that I can eat a Small Nachos from Taco Bell. And as I was eating it realized it is a good source of protein. You got Cheese, Refried Beans and Ground beef... on a few tortilla chips. Not too bad at all.

I also recently discovered Soy Nuts...dry roasted with some salt....good alternative to fatty peanuts

The protein smoothie posted in Recipes is very good to me. Cup Water, Cup OJ, Scoop Vanilla Protein, Some Frozen Strawberries. Ice. Blend... That OJ/strawberry combo really cuts the protein taste.

Am getting a little tired of water though....so started drinking decaf tea and V-8 juice...forgot how much i liked V-8.

Getting really tired of Eggs. And Tuna....though I eat alot of Tuna. Have also started eating little Herring Fish Steaks (the kind that are canned like sardines) Yummy.

I think I am going to try eating some serious meat this weekend...maybe some dry rub baby back ribs. They will be tender.

I really miss my milk...was a heavy 2% milk drinker.....think I will try some 1%

I believe I am on a plateau at 40 pounds lost...5 weeks out...but I am not worried. Because this board has told me that is normal.

Everyone says I look younger. I feel great. Nothing bad to report here.

Yall have a Great Weekend!!

Wow. See, I just worry about how much fat you're getting with the Bell. Though I must admit, I can't wait to eat something CRUNCHY! But as it stands right now, after a small bit of Jell-o, I can proclaim...

"I'M FULLLLLLL!"

I love smoothies and can't wait to make one of my own!

You need some fat in your diet. As little as you eat early post-op, it's not a concern. You get real bored with food quite easily. Watch out for the sauces (on ribs and such), they may contain a lot more sugar than you realize and can cause you to dump. Try a bite or two and see what happens before moving on to more mouthfuls.

Hey Mike, Congrats on the loss so far! Your body is just catching up, its happened to me twice. I am so glad that you are doing well, its nice to get those compliments! As for Taco Bell, I have gotten the nachos before (without meat, and extra beans. I can't stand chewing up their meat b/c of all the gristle) but then I saw that they have those border bowls I thought those would be a better choice, so I get those now. I get them without rice or red crisps but they come with either chicken or steak, beans, cheese, lettuce, and salsa. I have gotten the pintos and cheese before too.

I will have to try that smoothie that you mentioned, I haven't been drinking protein drinks because the aftertaste makes me gag but hopefully the orange/strawberry combo will work for me too.
About the milk, that is what I drink for my protein. I will drink 2% or 1% (I don't dump on fats) about 2 cups a day.

In maintenance... now I'm yo-yoing up and down 10 lbs or so. I'm trying to find out how to stay at a set weight, it's rough.

They have chicken nachos now........I might try them. I hate refired beans and am not supposed to have beef, so I have not indulged in the Bell. I have had cheese sauce and was ok.
