I make tacos for the family and I make myself a taco salad and crumble up 2 or 3 Doritos for a little crunch. It's cheaper than eating out and you can add beans or not. I don't know if it's any healthier (I know Doritos are bad but 3 surely won't kill me) but I'm sure you could make it healthier. I eat mostly lettuce with a bit of meat and a very small amount of cheese. I buy the Taco Bell medim sauce so it pretty much tastes like their stuff.

That sounds yummy....my mouth is watering. I eat Doritos here and there and you are right..they won't kill you...in the past I would finish off a whole bag..

Taco Bell is absolutely nasty. Maybe because I come from a Mexican family and I know what actual Mexican food is supposed to taste like...but that place is disgusting. I get out of school pretty late and drive by a Taco Bell and at like 11 at night, their drive-thru line reaches all the way around the building. What are those people thinking? yuck!

Hey Jared, Since you know what authentic mexican food is, maybe you can help me out. I live in small town nowhere, but we have two really great mexican restaurants here. My kids and I absolutely love that white cheese they smother everything in. In our ignorance we always jsut call it the white chees. What kind of cheese is it? I'd like to try to buy some for taco night at home. We don't have a single mexican grocery in our area, but in a neighboring town they have a huge section of authentic mexican items (a lot of stuff I have never heard of) so I am hoping if I get a name they may have it there. Thanks!

You know ther is some nutritional redeemin item s in Taco Bell food. At this point I really wouldn't concern myself with the amount of fat you are eating as well as getting something don that you enjoy and can tolerate. Later on move to something that is more nutritionally sound. All things havea time and a place.

Si, Si Bill. I mean, how bad can it all be in the grand sceme of things when you can only eat 2 bites anyways. So a Taco Bell run through every once in a while isn't going to kill you. I would be concerned if it was your only source of food. So what if it's not authentic? Pretty much every restuarant out there is "Americanized". You have to find those out of the way mom and pop places to get the real stuff. Or buddy up with someone who cooks the real thing.

Of course, what do I know? I ate a whole thing of movie nachos at 3 weeks out. Got tired of beans, protein shakes, boiled chicken, tired of trying to cook for 1/2 a person. The best indulgance at the time. Since then, can't have more than 5 nacho chips. Go figure.

I had a handful of Doritos yesterday and felt terrible..... weird cuz I was craving them too... anywho...

Taco Bell: I love their crunchy tacos.. i worked there for 5 years so I know what goes into it, Im just gonna play ignorance on that n stuff. When I go there I have only 1 taco, at this point Im sure I can eat a lil more or possibly two but I practice self control, satisify my pallette and get over it. I love 1 taco woth sour cream and FIRE hot sauce! yummy!

Man, I love their crunchy tacos! Theyre great, I use like sooo much hot sauce on them, I looove spicy food! I tried a nacho cheese chalupa yesterday, I added extra cheese, and when I was eating it I decided the bread part wasnt so good so I was tryin to pick off some of it (while driving) and made a big mess and when I went to throw it out the window, like an idiot, the cheese splattered and went all over my face and clothes and stuff! It was quite funny... and then later I went to a convenience store and noticed the clerk was lookin at me kinda funny and when I went to the car, I looked in the mirror and I had a big peice of lettuce stuck to my forehead.... yeah like a cool kid! haha anyways, thought that was funny and had to share :-D
