Welcome to the other side brother! Glad your here! Woo hoo!
Ask away on the questions... BUT use your search button also. If therres an area of concern, type it in the search area and you will come up with every discussion about it!
Also you posted earlier about what you can eat after a year out... type in search "good foot" you will see 2 threads where many people have recorded what they eat each day... (if you want specifics) Good luck man!

Hope you get to feeling better soon! Those tubes really really suck! That was the worst for me. It feels so gross when they pull them out, but you feel so much better!

It depends on how your surgery and recovery are going. Some people get them out at the 2 week visit others have to wait until the 6 week visit. I have a wound infection so all my tubes are still in and it's been 5 weeks. I'm loking forward to gettign the g-tube out but "burping" it has been a life saver at times.

I was quit shocked at the amount of pain I was in as well when I returned home. Most of my pain problem was they sent me home with the same medicine I take daily for Rhemotoid Arthritis so it wasn't strong enough. My bad I didn't call back and complain I just suffered through it. Trust me it get's better and better every day. I was just so shocked at the amount of things I could not do when I got home from surgery. Like get out of bed, roll over etc.

Whoa whoa whoa, wait, you guys went home with the drain tubes still in? They took mine out the day i left the hospital!
By the way, that tube coming out was the worst feeling of my life. It felt like they ripped an ovary out. It was weird, I kept complaining of a weird pain down low on my belly, and i thought it was my bladder cramping, 'cause it hurt to pee, but then they took the drain out and it was immediately better... weird.

The foly cathiter came out right after surgery. That is the one that is down under. The G-tube is up under the chest area and that is the one I still have. it is for draining the bile and gas from the old tummy.
The other tube I have is from a wound infection. It is not the common one.
