Default I made it, got some questions.

Ok i had my surgery done open gastric on the 26th of september, and i want to explain some things im experiencing, first off it seems the bottom half of my incision is pretty much healed up but the top part is still a little open and it oozes this yellowish color stuff smells kinda weird but overall feels ok was wondering if people had that? also when i get up to walk i can walk like for a tiny bit before im breathing really hard and heart rate is going crazy.. i could walk alot farther than this before the surgery without getting so winded could it just be because of the surgery.. also i cannot breath as easily anymore cause when i breath in deep it hurts a bit.. i just wanna make sure all this is normal.. also can anyone recommend a protein drink that doesnt taste like junk? thanks

Your breathing hurts because you new little pouch is probably attached to your didphram. That is what Dr Potts does, otherwise it would move all over the place. Are you using that air breather thing they gave you after surgery? You need to take really deep breaths to keep stretching your lungs and that should also get you used to the feeling of the attachment.
Good Luck and just breathe!!!

I am with Marcia on the breathing.
I don't know what to tell you about your incision, I didn't have that happen but I would think that as long as the area isn't swollen and red, and you don't think the stuff coming out is puss, then your probably fine. At least stuff is coming out instead of staying in and festering.
As for the protein drinks, I haven't found one yet that doesn't taste like junk! I bought the Isopure Strawberries n Cream in the beggining, but I drank it so much that I can't stand it anymore.
An idea that my nutritionist gave me that worked out OK a few times is to take 1 Cup milk and mix it with 1/4 Cup dry milk. It has 16 grams of protein. It doesn't taste good, but it is better compared with some of those protein drinks out there. And to better tolerate it, you can mix in No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast. It will also add another 5 grams of protein.

In maintenance... now I'm yo-yoing up and down 10 lbs or so. I'm trying to find out how to stay at a set weight, it's rough.
