Talking A milestone of sorts

Ok I have to share my wierd milestone. I have been living with my boyfriend for a little over a year, my boyfriend is not a big man and he has these two lawn chairs on the patio that I have not been able to fit in since I met him over two years ago, last night I was out on the patio enjoying one of my last vices and I just sat down and didnt think about it, I was sitting there for a few minutes without really thinking I was sitting in his chair and I fit! I freaked out a little thinking oh my now I am probley stuck. But I got up and down a few times, I almost did a little jig on the patio I was so happy, the little things that make me giggle now have to do with my ever changing body.

I havent told anyone at work this because most of them wouldnt understand. But I was very excited to call my mom (she had the RNY over two years ago) and share with her.

A little milestone is better than none!

Default I hear ya Chrissie Girl

Chrissie,

I hear ya on the patio chair thing. I was talking to Stuart last night and was telling him how before the rattan chairs in my backyard use to squeeze the heck out of me.. and now.. as of last night.. I could sit with both knees to my chest. My feet (heels) fit in the chair with me.. how freaking incredible it is.. I can't imagine going back to my old self. I can even sit sideways in the chair and put my legs over the arm. wooo hooo!!!

I totally hear ya girlfriend.. I am doing the happy dance right there for ya.. and with ya..

It's the little things that mean the most.. and you're right nobody else but us and of course your Mom understands these little milestones.. and it is freaking amazing!!! I am so happy for you.

When I was at Karens a while back I was sitting in her dining room chair and for no reason at all put my foot on the chair with my knee up to my chest. I didn't even think about it for a couple mintues.. and then was freaking out saying "look what I can do wooo hooo" it was exciting.. lol

Good for you though.. thats a huge milestone.. don't even think it is anything but that.. it's definitely not small..

Smile Chair victory

My chair milestone I face is at Dr Callery's office for support group meetings. When I was preop I sat in one of those plastic folding chairs, because all of the other "good" chairs were taken. I was hardly able to focus on the group because I just knew that damn chair was going to bust and fall out from beneath me. Thank god that didnt happen, but it sure felt like it could. Now when I go to the groups at his office I purposely pick those folding chairs and leave the "good" ones for my pre op friends.... I have absolutely no worries sitting in that chair anymore. I too am doing a happy dance for you! Congratulations!

Bridget,

I am laughing at you about the fold-up chairs at Dr. C's. I feel the same way about them busting out and me falling on the floor. I remember sitting uncomfortably in them and thinking if I move, they might bust *giggle*.

Chrissie,
That is such a neat milestone to share. I still feel like I am going to bust out the lounge chairs at our pool. I will get there one day, too where I will feel like a shrimp in one of those chairs.
What a good feeling for you.
congrats on your milestone.
