6 months-How many lbs. lost?
If you can remember, I'm curious as to how much weight each of you lost by the six month mark. My 6 month date is coming up and I have lost 76 lbs. (I've been stuck for the last month or so.) Just curious how fast others have lost and if your food intake was mostly low carb foods. Or give me names of foods that you ate all the time.
Just being curious...

I am only 5 months out and have lost 62 pounds. I have also hit several plateau's and then all of a sudden I would lost. It can be very frustrating but it will go move. Keep up the good work and try and not get frustrated.

Nikki this is such a touchy subject because people lose at different rates depending on size, and how much you started off weighing pre operatively. When people start reading these numbers they start to get frustrated and dont feel like a "winning" loser. Thats why you may not get too may reponses.. just a heads up not to take it personally.
I will tell you at the 6 month mark I lost at least 100 pounds. I am 5'11, was 31 y/o and was just about at the 300 mark, 299 cuz I had gained 10 pounds preoperatively. I dont want anyone emailing me or PM'ing on what I did to lose that fast. I followed the rules.. to the T! I probably could have stood to exercise more than I did, but other than that I stick to the rules! Also, I got sick and was on artifical nutrition for 5 weeks. I had no food at all. Just TPN, water and SF popsicles.
Both of you gals are doing a wonderful job. Keep up the great work, and again dont measure yourself againist others numbers okay... promise?

I was pretty close to 100lbs too at the 6 month mark. Like Bridget said though you can't take what others lost and compare it to yourself...since everyone is so different. I started out in the 260's...
Like B, I followed everything to a "t" too..I didn't take any shortcuts, I did what I was supposed to do, and it just came off...there really is no secret to it.
Take one day at a time, otherwise you'll make yourself go crazy measuring up to others that have gone through it...and I know, easier said than done eh? Be proud of what you have lost! Do you think that if you hadn't had this surgery you could've lost 76lbs in 6 months?
You're doing awesome!

I'm at almost 4 months out and I am at 70lbs. I do go up and down by a couple of lbs all the time and then I will drop one or two again. It's frustrating and I shouldn't step on the scale as often as I do. Keep up the good work!

I didn't deprive myself of anything. I got my protein in when I could, but didn't worry about all that I was eating or not eating. When you try to moralize food and classify "good" and "bad" vs food is just food, you're giving more power to the addicition than it needs.

I am only 2 1/2 months out and I am down 62 lbs. I was pretty sick for about a week where I was only on liquids but besides that I try to follow the rules. I have a hard time getting the protein in but I definitely don't eat anything that I'm not supposed to.

I totally agree here, I didn't deprive myself of anything either, including carbs. The difference after having this surgery...for me anyways, is that I knew I could eat anything including chocolate, sugar etc...and when I had those cravings, I would eat it, but instead of eating a WHOLE chocolate bar, I have one bite and i'm totally satisfied.
I do have to admit though....I don't, and never have gotten the recommended protein in. Ever. =/ I'm lucky to get in 20g if that a day. I have been getting better though about it, seems like as soon as I hit that 1 year mark, getting protein in is so much easier...prolly cause I'm used to eating SLOW now instead of wolfing it down and having it come right back up...
Uhhhh so maybe I didn't follow it right to a "T" lol
