Marie, I always love your advice!! This is what I am basically doing, and I have lost 58 lbs, in just over 3 months. (I am including the lbs lost on my 1 week pre-op liquid diet) I had replied to a thread on obesityhelp.com and in it I said that for lunch I had a half a tuna sandwich. I got nasty replies back on how "bad" the bread was and that I was going to gain all my weight back, or not lose at all eating like that. Puhleeeeze!

In maintenance... now I'm yo-yoing up and down 10 lbs or so. I'm trying to find out how to stay at a set weight, it's rough.

No, no I'm not comparing, just curious, is all. I know everyone loses at different rates, etc. AND, we ALL should be proud of ourselves whether it was 10-100lbs. lost! So NO ONE take this as a comparison or negative thing. I was just curious and was also interested in foods that some of you all were eating at this time. I seem to get stuck on certain foods and can't venture out into the bigger world of "other" foods besides the old, normal, every day ones I live on. This is for nosey informational purposes only! Thanks to those who posted. I'm PROUD OF ALL OF US!

This is the time to experiment!
Hmmm nachos, easy to prepare food when you can only eat 4 chips!
I was always an adventuorus eater. I never said no to trying anything once. I'm sure some of it comes from a Vietnamese mom who would cook anything.
The thing about surgery is this, food doesn't matter. You can only eat a few bites anyways. So whether you like it or not, you can take it or leave it. So why not just try it once?
I think the best example of change is my hubby. Whenever we went to italian, it was always chicken parmesan. He always had prime rib at a steakhouse. Even cooking at home was the same dish every night. I was forbidden to ever bring fish home. Chinese was always sweet and sour chicken. Veggies was always potatoe of some sort.
Since surgery, he eats sushi. He tries a new item on the menu each time we go out. Very rarely does he ever have potatoe. He likes Thai curry. He's only had chicken parmesan a half dozen times. He likes peas and broccoli. He has kept over 220 lbs off for over 3 years. He has never counted calories or grams of anything. We eat whatever we want, when we want, just not as much as before. It has become second nature to not eat a whole lot of junk food. The tastes just aren't appealing anymore.

I'm a little over 2.5 months out and I've lost 42 lbs and according to my personal tracking spreadsheet, I should have lost 90 lbs 6 mos out, and my spreadsheet says I'm on track at this point (or even doing a little better). It's just something to enourage me keep up, adhere to the dr's instructions and exercise. You're doing fine, keep up the good work !!!

At 6 months I was down about 195lbs. I weighed soooooo much, so I think the weight came off quicker. So coming up on 8 months it will be 215 lbs. I still eat absolutely NO Sugar, NO alcohol, NO high fat crap, I do NOT graze, I sort of count calories and I do excercise everyday, even it is only for 15 minutes. I am convinced that our new tool does work. We just have to work with it. I guess the hard part is coming.......when the appitite returns. I am already nervous. Keep up the awesome work sisters and brothers! Oh yeah, I AM NO LONGER OBESE according to the Govt's BMI Chart.........woooooooohoooooo!!!!!

I was a slow loser from day one. But at 6 months I was down 62lbs. Considered slow to a lot of people but not Dr Potts. He said I was losing just perfectly for my body mass and stuff.
I went crazy compairing myself to other peoples weight loss. Crazy I tell ya...... I still do it every once in awhile and it is just not healthy for me. So I try really really hard not to look at every one elses numbers. I need to be proud of where I am in my weight loss. -80lbs and still fighting.
