As for the B-12: Am I only supposed to be taking that once a week??? I've been doing it everyday! My nutritionist only said, "You need to start taking B-12 with your vitamins now" a week ago and I said "OK." I thought she meant daily.
Ezarella: Viactiv doesnt have the good calcium in it... correct me if Im wrong folks. Its calcium carbonate, dont we need calcium citrate or do I have it backwards?

Calcium citrate is what Dr. Potts said at the early post op meeting.

Also I read that Vitamin D increases calcium absorbtion, so taking calcium with your multi vitamin is a good thing!

Arrow multi-vitamins~ how many per day?

How many multi-vitamins do you guys take per day? My surgeon says to take 2 per day, one with breakfast and one with dinner. It is hard to remember the one at dinner, especially if we go out to eat. And do you take them with food? I have seen some people take them with their morning coffee or whatever.

In maintenance... now I'm yo-yoing up and down 10 lbs or so. I'm trying to find out how to stay at a set weight, it's rough.

Just as long as it doesn't have iron in it because the calcium and iron cancel each other out and you don't absorb either of them when taken together. And yup, calcium citrate is the best kind for us, since we absorb it most efficiently!
My surgeon says to take tums or viactiv for calcium, but my nutritionist says that citrate is better.

My nutritionist didn't differentiate between types of calcium. She did tell me to take Viactiv, though. I'll have to ask her about that at my next appointment! I sure don't want any bone problems.

Default Love hate relationship with Vitamins

I promise.. I just started taking them about a week ago. I hate the taste, but I just chew em up fast and swallow with water. I have also been taking b-12 daily cuz my energy is fading. I may have to take B-12 injections.. I have been deficient before the surgery and on injections.. so I'll get it checked out. Thanks for the post. Suzy

Hey my lil chick a dee, doubling, tripeling, whatever your B 12 wont help with energy, it malabsorbs. Once you get your 100% fix the rest just wastes. Its a water soluable vitamin, so once you get your max thats it, theres no benefit of more.

Thanks to all of you for taking this pledge... I wonder why some folks arent? Guilt or perhaps they think this thread is just dumb? I dunno but to those of you who are promising your are fabulous!
