Unhappy Need advice about stomach bug

My son had a stomach virus. well I got it last night thought I was going to die the pain in my pouch was so bad I didn't know what was wrong with me. I couldn't breath, it was unlike any bug I had before. I am feeling a little better today but all I have been able to keep down is a few saltines. Is this OK? I usually do not eat crackers bread etc. But my pouch is so sore and I am afraid to eat anything solid. I am able to drink a little I am back to VERY slow sipping my water. I am just concerned that I am not able to get in any protein, I should be ok for a day like this right?

Laura,

I'm sure you'll be fine hun. Missing protein for one day won't do you in. Hugs!

I ate nothing but saltines, and water for almost a week. You won't die just will lose some weight, and maybe be tired. Good luck with the bug.. ugh Suzy

You will be fine with the saltines. Listen to your pouch. I think liquids will help you get through the bug. If you eat anything too harsh, you will just feel terrible just like when you had a normal stomach. Feel better soon.

Thank you Ladies When I used to get a bug I would have canned peaches and the syrup to settle my stomach, so this is all new for me as I know that would have made me dump with all the sugar. I am so diligent with my protein and my vitamins that I was afraid one day would ruin me.

Just be careful not to get the carb bug. Once he laches onto you it is hard to shake him off.

Some crackers today may lead to hard stuff. LOL LOL but realy just watch yourself after you pouch fills better that you don't start eating stuff like that. Not that its' bad in moderation. Everything is good and healthy in moderation. Just a caution I wanted to throw out there.

Thank you Barbara for the warning! I am feeling a lot better today, I had by protein shake for breakfast and for lunch I am going to have some chicken breast I had leftover. If that does not feel well going down then I will just have my shakes today and give my pouch another day of rest, no crackers or hard stuff today! rofl!

You are so welcome my friend. I hope that you are feeling better day by day. It looks like you are on your way to recovery.

I have not had the flu yet since my surgery. I am not looking forward to that day. Uggh. it just scares the crap out of me.
