Default Should I be counting cal. etc.?

I am on my 9th wk and I was wondering if I need to be counting calories, fat, carbs etc.? Yesterday just for the heck of it I kept track of my calories and I had about 500 cal. but I exercised and burned 200 cal. Is this normal for 9 wks or should I be doing something different? I feel I have been losing a little slow and wonder if this is why. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tina

You're in the average tange for 9 weeks. I didn't and still don't do any calorie counting. I focus on protein first, then veggies, then carbs last if room. Other than the occasional carb snack

All our info says women should shoot for 1000 a day. That is the minimum for keeping everything running healthy, including metabolism. Good luck hun!

Tina honestly I think the one of the worse things you can do now is focus on calories so early out. There could be other factors why you are losing slow. Are you getting all 64 oz of water in(I know I am still working on that), How much protein are you getting in? If the weight is coming off and you are following your surgeons guide lines then just continue. I hope your weight loss picks up the way you want soon.

Hey ladies thanks for the response, I am not bumming about losing slow, I'm just glad I haven't stalled yet. I was just wondering if I should be concerned with calories and it sounds like I don't need to right now. I just don't want to get used to eating stuff and then later on have to stop because of calories, fat etc. Only 2 more pounds and I will be below 200 YYYEEEAAAHHHH!!!! I have started exercising daily to see if that speeds it up. I'd like to lose 10 lbs by the end of September. Thanks for the replies. Tina

Dont worry about the calories. Like the others have said, concentrate on protein and veggies. Nutrition in the key, as well as hydration. I had my resting metabolism checked and according to that, I should be consuming about 2000 calories a day....ha! yeah, right, maybe in 2 or 3 days! Just follow the rules and let your pouch do the rest. I'm sure you'll drop those 10 before the end of the month! Remember, you're not on a "diet".
