Yes i can have cream soups, but they dont sit well, at least not the Cream of Chicken one. I had that one last night, and was sick 5 minutes later (course maybe it was the crackers i put it it??). Cream of Potato seems ok, But i noticed they dont fill me up long. I even make them pretty thick. Who knows...

I would eat around 7:30 am 10:30 am (I am hungry at this time no matter what, i can set my watch to it) then I would eat lunch anytime around 12:00-1:00 then I would eat again at 3:00 or 3:30 and then dinner. My diet would consist of bacon and eggs, tuna, cottage cheese, pepperoni slices, deli meat, hard boiled eggs, bunless burgers or sandwiches, jerkey, almonds, string cheese, yogurt, protein bars and shakes.... you may not be able to have these things now, but im just throwing out examples of my mimi meals. So plan to eat 5 mini meals a day, you should lose that growling hunger stuff and feel satisfied and not deprived.

Good luck, love your sunny self!
Bridget, when do you ever have time to drink?

Inbetween all that. I usually have water or crystal light on my way into work, then i have coffee at work. Then I get another bottle of water of fill up my crystal light and keep it my desk and just sip, sip all day long. I stop about 20 mins before lunch. Sometimes I drink with my lunch, sometimes I dont but NEVER AFTER... you will "fill up" and can barf.. its NOT fun.
Then about 1/2 hour after I eat I start to drink again.... like I said I can gulp so I can easily take 30 oz of fluid in 20 minutes if focus on it.
You'll get a system down too, its just a matter of time and trial and error on what is gonna work for YOU!

Default Ok, Getting Ticked

I know you Longer term post opers are tired of hearing how us Short Term Post opers are worried cuz the weight loss has stalled. But..... It does not make it easier for us none the less.
It is now 2 weeks and i am down 1 lb. That is so frustrating. I dont feel my clothes getting any smaller either. I know i could not have lost 27 lbs in 4 weeks before surgery, but the fact is i did have WLS and now i see it stalled. Not for just one week, but for 2 weeks.

I have started on Soft foods, things like Lasagne, Chicken salad. I know i stop eating when i am full, and i am not drinking with my meals. What could be the problem?

Watch out for those crackers! Are you drinking with your meals? That will make your food move through the pouch quicker. Liquids don't stay in the pouch as long as denser foods.

If you're feeling this hungry, you might call the doctor's office and ask if you can have refried beans or mashed potatoes with cheese.

One more question -- are you exercising?

Exercise is a tough one for me. I didnt like it before WLS i still dont. I know it is a must. I just have a hard time with this one.
No I am not drinking with my meals. I dont eat many crackers anymore either. I have started on the soft food stage, so i can have things like mashed potatos, refried beans. Acutally i am past that stage now, and am eating things like lasagne, and chicken salad. I feel more full on those things, and am eating less times a day. My nutritionist recomends only eating 3 meals a day.
Do you think it is just the exersice? How much should i be doing? Can i just start by walking around the block? How often? Uggg! I HATE exercise. I really thought i would lose more before i HAD to start excercise.

If you don't exercise, you don't lose as quickly. I hate exercise too, but walking is ok. Someone told me, walk one direction for 10 minutes, then turn around and come back. Each day, increase by a minute or two. She said go by time, not distance.

Give yourself some time...it doesn't happen overnight. Work throughthe frustration. Any little bit helps. It's not just exercise, it's the overall daily activity level. Exercise is just one component. I hate to exercise. But I like to be active. I did a lot of window shopping while anticipating the day I can wear those cute little otufits. I putt around the yard quite a bit. Play with the dogs. Check my mail 20 times a day. Just keep moving. Isn't there something somewhere about getting in 10,000 steps a day?

Hey being down only one measly pound is better than gaining one.

Us MO folks have the mindset for instant gratification, this is where your head games fall into place because your loss is out of your hands. You cant control it, speed it up, slow it down... you have to learn to accept it. This is step 1 in the WLS process of getting your mind right. Its hard to do, but you know to focus internally right now and stop running yourself down... how much weight have you lost at his point. Dont focus on the 1 pound... focus on how all those little 1's form a huge number!!!! It will happen be patient with yourself and get rid of that damn scale! INTERVENION!
