Holly and Danette,

Measure yourselves, you're losing inches. I noticed that each time I hit a zero number, like 240, 230, my weight pauses for a few days. Then, it starts dropping again, but the whole time I'm losing inches. I too can eat more than I thought I would, but if I compare it to what I used to eat, it's almost nothing. Remember not to drink liquids with food. That does make a difference for me with how much I can eat.

Are you guys kidding me????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont be concerned with NOT losing anything until you are at least 1 year out!!! Things are gonna stop, things are gonna stall, things are going to plateau. Dont think for one second THIS IT! IM DONE LOSING!

You guys need to accept that it going to happen. There is nothing you can do to stop it, just like losing your hair.

You say your stomach growls.. are you sure it GROWLS? My stomach doesnt growl, hasnt since GBP surgery. It does make alot of rolling noise though...Are you sure you dont have head hunger?

Dont get down on your selves, its gonna happen and its gonna pass. Also, its my feeling you weigh yourself at least 2 times a day... maybe even 4. Get off the scale and take a walk and start fantasizing about how fabulous your physique will look in only 6-12 months! Now go strut your stuff!

I can so relate.......I'm tired of puree and am still on liquids! lol My doc also doesn't start any chewing at all until the 5th week. Today I bought refried beans, liquid nacho cheese, and gonna add sour cream when I start pureeds on Sunday. This pudding, yogurt, sweet supplement, popsicle, lemonade, etc. crap is getting to me. It seems like so much of it is a sweet taste. I'm trying to add some soup, but you still need those supplements. Bean soup with some cheese in it seems to be one of the only liquids than can carry enough protein on it's own. My friend is doing that daggone cal, oz, protein math in her sleep now! lol I hope I can hang on as well as you. Last night I licked to tortilla chips!

I could eat about 6 oz. of yogurt early on. I was worried at first too, but you have to remember that there's not much to yogurt. Doesn't take up a lot of room!

Head hunger sucks! It took me awhile to get over that! Commercials are what used to drive me bonkers...I'd see a Taco Bell commercial and WISH I could take a big bite out of a burrito! And I had just eaten and KNEW I couldn't be hungry! There's SO MUCH that goes on in the mind, we don't even know if it's really happening or just the mind playing tricks..Come to think of it, my stomach doesn't growl anymore either, hmmm...
All I know is that I hardly ever feel hungry anymore, yes sometimes I do, but not like it used to be! Maybe your body just needs the nourishment and is craving food since we had to punish it for awhile at first after it was used to its previous "I can have whatever I want" lifestyle. It'll be ok. There's only SO MUCH that you can fit in that pouch!

Its okay to give in... but eat the healthy stuff. You need protein to keep your cells healthy in the healing process. Eat 5 small meals a day, thats what i did. But they were planned. If it works for you, its okay to do it. I would eat around 7:30 am 10:30 am (I am hungry at this time no matter what, i can set my watch to it) then I would eat lunch anytime around 12:00-1:00 then I would eat again at 3:00 or 3:30 and then dinner. My diet would consist of bacon and eggs, tuna, cottage cheese, pepperoni slices, deli meat, hard boiled eggs, bunless burgers or sandwiches, jerkey, almonds, string cheese, yogurt, protein bars and shakes.... you may not be able to have these things now, but im just throwing out examples of my mimi meals. So plan to eat 5 mini meals a day, you should lose that growling hunger stuff and feel satisfied and not deprived.

Good luck, love your sunny self!
