Hi Guys,
I had my 6 week appt Monday with Kelly and everything is going great. I've lost 50 pounds!!! Half way to my goal, I'm so stoked. Then Tuesday I had a appt with my primary care Dr. and this was the first time I'd seen him in about 4 months and he couldn't believe the change. Now for the really good news... NO DIABETES meds !!! I was on two of them. I take two meds for cholestrol and I'm down to one, yea!! and if my blood pressure stays low he will take me off of one of the two that I take and check again in a few months. My goal is to be off all meds by the end of the year. I'm praying that it happens. I hope you guys guys don't mind that I'm tooting my own horn but as you all know this is life changing stuff and you want the whole world to know about it because it is exciting to be on the way to normal. My wife Jenniemae saw Kelly yesterday for her 6 month check up and she has lost 94 pounds!!! We are both looking forward to another post op meeting in August. Thanks everyone for all the input on this forum. You don't know how much it helps us both as well as everyone else. See you soon.
Jim

Thumbs up Congrats

Way to go Jimbo!

That's some really great news. You go ahead and toot your horn, you earned it. I know how you feel too. My pre-surgery comorbidities were type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and sleep apnea. I have asthma too, which has improved. I no longer take any meds for those co-morbidities. (Still on asthma meds tho, but I can't expect total miracles) I hardly ever even check my blood sugar anymore. My blood pressure has stayed around 130/80 for the last 2 years. My cholesterol levels are all good now and my sleep apnea is gone. I hardly even snore anymore. This sure is a life changing experience and almost a miracle. Keep on keepin on!

Default Thanks

You know, we're like a family aren't we? We have our trials and tribulations but we know we can depend on our family to uplift us and care for us. That's how I feel while reading posts or making my own because whatever someone is going through I have or will go through it as well. I know I can turn to this forum and feel alot better about what I'm going through by the time I log off. Right now I'm happy and thank you all for your support and encouragement. I hope I can do the same for someone.

Jim

Default Jim,

Ah, you see, you do help others without even knowing it. That's why everyone here needs to share what they are feeling and going through, because there is someone out there, feeling just like them or going through a simular situation at the time, or will be soon enough. There is always someone right before you or right after you that can be helped by what YOU have to say. So, speak up everyone!
