Default 11 days out, haven't lost any weight in 3 days.

i thought the weight would come off quickly in the beginning. i am following my diet. mainly protein shakes and one or two pureed meals a day of 1.5 ounce protien and 1 oz vegtable. i do no know why i haven't lost ANYTHING in the last three days, how is that possible. am i not eating enough. this seems crazy.

Default Step away from the scales!

Ok stop weighing yourself every day, and do it once a week if even that much. Buy a tape measure and measure yourself, if you are losing inches forget the scale. I do not own a scale and I measure myself once a week and yes I lose inches, so I don't worry about it. Good luck Suzy

i think that is good advice, i will stop weighing myself like a maniac. i am on the scale three times a day, a little obsessive i guess. i go for my 2 week follow up on wednesday, they will weigh me then so i won't jump on the scale anymore till then.

It is very hard to not be obsessive. When I weigh myself and I have lost, it is sorta like a high, and almost like a dream come true. It is soooooo hard to not weigh yourself. But it is very important because it will discourage you so bad because you will stall, its inevitable. Your body has to catch up and take a breather. Also, another reason why you haven't lost in 3 days could be that you are re-hydrating.

In maintenance... now I'm yo-yoing up and down 10 lbs or so. I'm trying to find out how to stay at a set weight, it's rough.

it could be the re-hydrating. i have been able to drink a lot more fluid the last few days. i was dehydrated before, but now the fluid is goingdown easy.

I had surgery on Aug. 2. The first week I lost 10lbs. The second 4 lbs. The third 14lbs. The fifth and sixth 0 lbs! Two weeks without weight loss! But, I've gone from a size 2x to large in tops and went from 22w to 14w in pants. So, don't worry. Weight loss will happen.

For me, I drop weight in bursts. There will be like a week when I don't lose at all and then BAM. It just comes off. Don't weigh yourself everyday. I do it, but then again I'm crazy. You are losing weight very fast, but it may not seem like it. You will not lose 5 pounds per day, so I would just try and not stress over it. The weight will come off, don't worry

Hi,
The first # was my weight when I went to my first informational meeting (Nov. 2004 )and began trying to lose weight. The second was my weight at surgery. I'd lost 27 lbs. The third is my current weight and the fourth my goal. Incidentally, my email may have been misleading. The sizes I dropped were since Nov. 2004 and not just since surgery. I just hadn't bought any new clothes till now.

My first two weeks I only lost 5 lbs. and I only knew that because of my checkup. I stayed off the scale because I knew my body wouldn't have adjusted yet to just having surgery and I was really swollen. But I didn't expect to see only a 5 lb loss. It wasn't until after my appointment I started weighing myself more often. The 5lb loss really dissapointed me. But eventually I started losing and now I don't pay as much attention to the scale but to my clothes and how they fit. I would have loved to have lost as much as you so don't get discouraged it will come off. Tina
