So Yeah....blechhhh
im 2 weeks out now...and the only think I look forward to is ice water! Everything else makes me feel so pesci. I'm afraid to eat now! I'm worried that I eat too fast...worried that stuff will get stuck and I'm worried I'll dump on everything! EEEEK. Oh yeah...I can barely fit a couple ounces of protein shake in before I start feeling sick. I have a 2 year old...I really don't have much time to sit around and sip on a protein shake for 3 hours!
How long does it take to get back to get normal? How long before I can drink a whole shake?

Hiya Stephanie,
Outta curiousity what else are you trying to eat? At two weeks all I could do was a few bites of applesauce, yogurt, soup.. stuff like that. Just take a couple bites of the baby's food! That way you don't have to worry bout anything getting stuck.
Are you going to your 2 week checkup soon?
Discuss your issues with your nutrionist then. Do you all see your nutritionist too at your 2 week check? I dunno, coz I'm in Washington and things seem a lil different.

I'm 7 weeks out and I still feel sick and throw up. Everyday. I have plastic containers sitting everywhere just in case. It's hard to say when you'll feel better. I hope it's soon for the both of us.

Just soft foods
I'm talking about a tiny piece of scrambled egg, my protein shake, beans, cheese...oh yeah, definitely no more milk! I guess I'm just getting really discouraged that I will never find anything that my tummy agrees with. At this point, I'd just rather not eat. I know I can't do that either, hence, the conundrum. I'm just wondering if anyone experienced this early on and does it go away?

Yep I had the same thing happen to me... exactly. I couldn't eat anything, and preferred not to because everything I ate made me sick. I went back to soft foods.. eliminated milk products (all of them) ate smaller portions of fruit as that was what was making me dump, and started eating saltine crackers with every meal.. and they helped settle my food. I ditched the crackers after a couple weeks and all of a sudden one day I could eat. Don't give up relax, and try not to get all worked up when you eat. Suzy

Well Stephanie you are only 15 days out its going to take time for your body to adjust no one can really tell you what you can and can not tolarate only your body will tell you that everyone is different and what one maybe able to eat may make you sicker then a dog, some people after surgery can tolarate the same amount of sugar as pre surgery and some people dump at the sight of sugar and some can tolarate very little sugar. What ever you do, do not get discouraged the surgery was a success and now is the hardest part adjusting to your new life eating habits I find even now 15 months out that Iwill eat something one day and it will make me totally sick and then I will eat it again on another day maybe even a different brand and Iwill be totally fine with it it is all trial and error sweetie just be patient and make sure you eat slow you may not feel totally full when you are eating but if you know you are starting to feel full STOP eating cause if you even take one more bit you could make yourself sick its weird but it kinda sneaks up on you and takes a few minutes to hit the pouch and then you will be over stuffed and feel sick anyways you will do fine do not over analize everything you eat trial and error is the only way to know for sure what is going to work for you. Good Luck.

Steph,
Yes, and yes. I didn't want to eat at first, and yes it gets a lot better. As you learn your new body tool, you'll figure out what works for you. Just be sure to get plenty of water in.
