I started losing my hair around the 4 month point. Its started to come out in one area and then stopped and then started coming out somewhere else. This moving pattern has been going on now for the last few months and it is amazing that the only people who notice the hair loss is me and my hairdresser. Partly because I let her trim...not chop or cut.... I think it gives the illusion of the same healthy full head of hair I once had and will have again.

I was wondering if any one knows when to expect it to stop. I heard around 9 months. I hope so as that is right around the corner for me!!

One more thing to remember is that hair loss is temporary and will grow back. I already have these cute little baby hairs on my forehead. They kind of grow wild up there.

Good luck
RAin

Satan himself couldn't get me to cut my hair. I don't care if it falls out. It falls out by buckets full now. I'll get a wig, or a cute little propeller hat. My hair is as much a part of me as my pinkie toes. And I'm not about to cut those off either!

Default I almost cut mine off today.

I went to cut it off cause it looked so stringy. I almost went from long hair to a short modern layered bobb. I want it long for my 40th comming up at the end of this month. I opted for a long layered trim instead and it looks much fuller but it is the thinnest it has ever been in my life but luckily I see new hair growth and know it will be back to normal in a year or so.I look the best with my hair at least shoulder length. I have used Nioxin. I stopped and now I am going to use it again and use it regularly. I hate the smell but I wasn't losing it so fast when I used it. Good Luck!

I didn't lose any hair really. One of the key things to prevent hair loss is to keep your protein up. This was pressed in my pre-op lectures and as I stated, I didn't lose my hair. I actually even donated my hair to locks of love 5 months post op (cut 12 inches) and still had full shoulder-chin length hair. Some hair loss is normal, excessive loss is not. If you are exceptionally concerned, I would check with your surgeon for his/her suggestions. I hope that was helpful.

I have so much hair that I shed really bad anyway... but I have been losing alot more now.. started about 5 months out... My Mom gave me some nioxin vitamins.. but I cant seem to remember to take them.... I am on a mission starting this week though to remember to take all my vitamins.. and drink all my water. I cant cut my hair off... my head is too big .. so hopefully the hairloss will slow with me doing better about my vitamins.

It's weird when these two and three year old posts pop back up.. I wonder how some of those that started this thread are doing now!

For me, I did not cut my hair off...all I did was go for a little trim last week. My daughter and I went together.. I love her new style, wish I could carry it off, but my hair is stick straight and doesn't take to a style very well

Default Don't CUT

I have really long hair and yes at 8 months it's falling out by the handfuls and has been for a few months but I refuse to cut my hair.. I have to work alot harder these days to make it look good. I use tons of products and shine boosters but it looks good after a bit of effort..
Hang in there and don't cut it off... My hair lady says you will be happy if you don't cut it off.... Hang through the fall out you can make it...

I have not touched my hair since three weeks after surgery. I have hair that is a little bit longer down my shoulders. I am 4 1/2 months out from surgery, having hair loss, not too bad yet. I pull my hair up alot with a butterfly clip, parting in the middle or to the side. I refuse to cut my hair short. I am also loading up on hair vitamins and biotin, also making sure to take the iron. I hope that the loss starts slowing down. No one noticing yet.
