It's varied. Some people can tolerate them sooner then others. I'd wait three months. Also, straight liquor can lead to ulcers. Sweet mixed drinks, would most likely cause a problem too. Mostly though, be careful. As it's been discussed many times on this board, after you can't turn to your food adiction anymore for emotional comfort, it's very easy to get sucked into some other addiction. Like with most things in life, everything in moderation. Also if you type "alcohol" in the search engine, you'll find the other threads where this was discussed.

It suggested you dont drink beer because its carbonated. I know some folks that drink beer that have been able tomaintain their weight just fine, and then I know others who packed on alot more weight.

If your gonna try it, just do it at home. You got drunk VERY fast now! VERY!
I had my forst drink at about 3 months out. I cant stress to you enough to always have a desiginated driver, now more than ever. One glass of wine will have you loopy! Heck 1/2 glass of wine will have you loopy!

I had a bit of rum and diet coke the other night. It was good, but the alcohol does hit you pretty fast. Just be careful. I would steer away from sweet drinks. The Bacardi Raz low carb malt drinks are pretty good too Just don't over-do it and you should be ok.

Be cautious not to drink too much! It is so very hard to rehydrate after having a few too many. Trust me on this one! I spent two days trying to get myself hydrated again!

Our doctor made us sign a promissory note stating that we would not have ANY alcohol for 1 year. I guess he has his reasons. I do miss wine and grappa, but nothing, and i mean NOTHING tastes as good as i feel........good luck!!!
