I also had my surgery on Tuesday and went home Friday. I was to go home on Thursday but I was running a low grade fever and I asked to stay just in case.

Liquid lortab is very nice. You will feel better every day, but the first week is HELL. Just expect to hurt every time you move, breathe, or cough. It will get better.

And welcome to the losing side!

Time is the best healer. The first week is hell, but it does get better.

I too am shocked that you got the privledge of staying in the hospital so long. I had OPEN surgery on 01-14-05 went home on 01-16-05 even after requesting to stay another day because of pain.

Anyway, enough about me. The pain will go away with walking and making sure you have strong enough pain meds. I did not have strong enough pain meds for home use. Reason being is that I was taking Vicodin on a regular basis so when they sent me home with it my body was like "why are you giving me baby asprin for this huge pain" I got over it.

Walking hourly will help and resting. Make sure when you walk that you walk talk and straight. Streach out your stomache and it will feel better.
