Thanks to all of you for the advice! Bridget that is a great idea and I'll talk to them about it. I have always wanted to take kick boxing! God knows I need to get rid of some frustration! They are pretty active-softball, skating, swimming. However, they also spend a great deal of time with my grandparents (I work and go to school full time) and they are sofites whe nit comes to snacks. I have talked with them about setting some limits as far as snacks go and they seem to be in agreement with me. I've also started making them walk home from school everyday (about 5 or 6 blocks). My oldest wants to be vegan but her way of doing that is by eating lots of pasta and cheese. I just bought her a good book with lots more choices in it. I have also told them that from now on they can only have school lunch 2 days per week. I used the excuse that it was too expensive. They can pick the 2 days they want to eat at school and we will get some healthy stuff for the rest of the week. I have also decided that even if I have to go buy myself new (from an actual store) clothes then so be so we aren't sharing jeans and t-shirts. I always shared with my mom and it never bothered me but I think that may be causing some unnecessary anxiety too. My hubby is a skinny butt who eats nothing but junk so I'm going to tell him he'll have to eat all those snack cakes at work and I'm sure he'll be fine with it. Another problem I have is that I'm so busy I'll often just grab them some fast food and I'll snack on soy crisps or cheese or something due to lack of time. I vow to get the crock pot out and do less of that garbage too. Thanks a bunch for all your suggestions!
