Default Thanks

hey all,

I want to thank all of you who have replied to my first post! All your support has been great. I am sure as some of you know, the fist week can be an emotional roller coaster. I am not sure if its wose because i am so young(20yrs old) or if everyone is like this. My parents dont uderstand why i cry at the drop of a hat, and to be honest neither do I. I feel really great for being 1 week postop, the only problem is being nausous. I am nausous 24/7. Has anyone else felt that way? I have my 1st appointment tomorrow with the surgeon and the physisian, hopefully they can figure something out! Well this post has allowed me to see that although i dont feel well right now, it is better than what i was feeling before surgery. Things can only get better. or so i hope!

ps what is the avg weight loss in the first week.

Ashley, I was DEFINITELY nauseous for most of the first month and a half. I thought I was going crazy because I thought it would never end... but it did, and yours will too. Even water made me sick to my tummy, but that went away.

Hang in there... this is an emotional rollercoaster... and that gets better, but it doesn't always go away completely.

My advice: get lots of rest, drink your protein, take your vitamins, walk as much as you can and surround yourself with supportive people!

Best of luck!

There is really no avg. wt loss because everyone is totally different. Just be happy with whatever you lose cause It won't get hard until the last 20 or 30 lbs.
Keep Smiling!

Default Crying

I cried every night without fail for the first week when I went to bed. I cried hard and a lot. I would look at my Mom and ask her WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF! Why did you let me do this to myself. It gets better I promise. I would do it again in a minute if I had to.

I cried the first week too. When my family was eating spaghetti and chocolate..and I felt miserable (physically). I remember lying in bed and crying, wondering if I did the right thing...doubting my decision.

Also, I don't feel so alone now. I'm 19yrs old (5 weeks out)

Ashley. I had a hard 8 weeks. Kind of emotional and frustrating. Stick in there. Keep talking about it, never hold it inside... it will make it worse. Where are you from by the way? Just wondering, because I am young too and thought maybe we could get together if you need someone. I know I do. My husband is in the Navy and gone all the time. Gets pretty lonely, and I am trying to make food my best friend again. Not a good thing =(. Talk to you later. Katie
P.S. I live in Chula Vista, CA

I cried the first week, too, and had another bout of it last week. For me, it has to do with me not being able to use food to deal with my emotions so I am actually feeling them now.
