Default What order to take meds in?

Hi everyone! I'm wondering if there's any specific order to which anyone takes their medications after surgery. I ask because I've had a lot of gas lately...for no apparent reason, and I've found myself suspecting every little thing of causing it. I'm wondering if I should take my multivitamins first, then wait a while then take the gas x...or the other way around? I've found I get severe cramping after I take the Prevacid solutab, so I haven't really been taking it...I don't have any problems when I don't take it...except the gas. I'm assuming that taking the most important medications first would be the most logical answer, which for me would be my antidepressants and vitamins. Ugh...I just wanna know where the gas is coming from I guess... and where I should fit in the anti gas meds, lol.

Amy - a known side effect of Prevacid is tummy problems.

Ideally, it needs to be taken at the same time each day and if taking it on an empty tummy causes you problems, try taking it with a drink of milk or even a little bit of food.

As for the Gas-X, I don't think it really matters when you take it.

Do you have any lactose issues? Might be worth trying soy mik to see if that helps with the gas.

Also, try taking your multivitamins etc. with a little food.

Lastly, try warm peppermint tea for helping the gas. Gas-X did little for me but the tea really helped.

Suuuuure, see what I get for not reading the prescribing info that comes with the medication! LOL. I'll try taking it in the morning with my Cymbalta and Strattera... with food. I'll letcha know how it works out. I'm not a big fan of peppermint, but I have noticed that Gas-x has some peppermint in it...

Fennel is really good for gas.

You just need some fennel seed (in the spice aisle). Crush about 1/2 a teaspoon between two big spoons - just enough to smash them a bit. Chuck them in a large cup of boiling water and let them steep for 10 minutes. You might need to sweeten it a little. Strain and sip.

It tastes like licorice/anise. I love it.
