Yeah its funny to me how people say to me " oh you can eat sugar..forever" or " its to bad you can eat this cake (or whatever)". I tell them I can eat what I want,I just chose not to.Those old habits were why I was obese
Its so powering to say "NO" & have the willpower now to eat the right things and be satisfied

Those feeling WILL go away. You'll see. In a few weeks you'll chuckle at all those people sitting their stuffing their faces.

You guys are wonderful! I could never get angry at a honest and straight forward post. That's why you guys add so much value. You all keep it real! Thanks for that.

I wiped away my tears and picked myself up. Today is my birthday and last night husband and I went out to a bar for the first time since surgery. I had a wonderful time. I didn't miss the alchol and I even had steamed shrimp. Only 3, but they were very good. You guys are right about savoring every bite. Before I would just wolf the food down.

Also I had wendy chili, only a few tablespoons, but boy it was so good. I'll have the rest of it today.

I also found small iron pills so that I can swallow them instead of crush them. Monday I don't have to crush anything. Woo Hoo!!

Thanks for making me feel better. I it's going to be awhile before I visit the friggin mall again. Way to depressing. Unless, I'm purchasing small clothes (smile).

Happy Birthday Kimmy! I had the post op food blues BAD! I dedicated one whole post to how sad I was that my family was having tacos and I was having broth or cream soup (can't remember). I was so miserable! I mourned my food loss big time. It will get better but I still sometimes have those thoughts of I'll never be able to stuff myself again. I'm just grateful that I can't. This is a totally normal way to feel. Don't fight it, just feel bad and then move on.

Sometimes I find myself kinda bummed that I have to eat certain things instead of others when my family is eating the stuff i used to love. Like we went to steak n shake one night and I was soo bummed cuz I couldnt have a milkshake. But then I just had to start thinking, well Im getting healthy and these bad foods are what would have eventually lead to diabetes, heart disease, and eventually death. Going to the mall was SOO happy for me, I was buying smaller clothes!! Just look at the positive.... remember how they say "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" thats my quote to live by! I just got back to college and my friends are all like "omg you cant drink diet cokes?!" and "you cant have sugar?!?" they think its like awful, but really I dont miss it.... it was the enemy. Those things were what got me to where I was, and where I was wasnt happy! Im much happier now! You will be too once you start getting into smaller sizes! Then going to the mall is FUN FUN FUN!! Keep your head up girl, I hope you get to feeling better! :-D

Default Always remember.....

Just always remember sweetie when you have that feeling again
"Nothing Tastes as good as thin feel" Trust me when I say this I went through all the same things you went through and now when I see people eating like I used to I think ok well I dont ever want to go back to that because then I will be heavy again and I like being thin soo much better now. Later on as time passes you wont be drpriving yourself you are still in the very early stages post op and later on you will say hey I want some of that apple pie probably not a good idea but you will at least be able to take a bite and not eat the whole thing and you will have satisfied your craving. I find it weird because I can only eat like 4 bites of pasta and I am sooo stuffed but yet I can eat a huge chunk of steak and a couple bites of veggies and I feel great go figure I cant figure that one out. Good luck girlfriend you will be fine and everything will fall into place. Take care hun.

The pasta thing could be because it swells in our stomach like rice does. I cant eat either of them really, they trick you into thinkin youre ok and then a few min later youre sick as crap! Not fun.. but yeah just a random bit of info my doc told me
