Question lab work @ 3, 6, 9 and 1year out

Does anyone remember what labs they had to get drawn for the 6, 9 and 1yr post op? I think I did a cbc, chem panel, fractionated beta carotene and B-12?

Have tried and failed to call the office for a lab list, so I can have it drawn and hand carry the results in during my appt. Now am late for my 6 mo post op....
Does anyone remember the list??? And yes, I am fine and still losing very slooowly.(-73). And still have the not-want-to exercise demon hanging on my shoulder...most of the annoying GI stuff has pretty much resolved.
Thanks Lynn

Lynn,
For my six-month follow up labs I had a cbc, chem-12, liver panel, lipid panel, B12/folate, iron, tibc, and beta carotine. I hope that this helps. Let us know.

Lynn,
TIBC stands for Total Iron Binding Capacity. This is a way of testing for anemia. A higher than normal TIBC may be an indicator for iron deficiancy anemia. A lower than normal TIBC may indicate several things including cirrhosis, hemolytic anemia (premature destruction of red blood cells), pernicious anemia (a complicated set of events where B12 is not absorbed properly-B12 is important in the formation of red blood cells), and malnutrition. I hope that this answers your question and I apologize for being long-winded with my medical explanations! Also, I would check with the office to find out exactly what tests they want...no need to get stuck with a needle twice. If you are not receiving an appropriate answer from the office staff, you could try emailing Kelly directly. Take care, Lynn, and good luck.

Stuart

Smile Hi Lynn

Hey Lynn,

I am glad to see you are doing good. Just wanted to pop in and say Hi. Kelly gave me my 6 month lab tests early because of a problem I was having but there was so much on there ( pretty much every test ) and I am not sure if it is the standard or not... sorry..

Keep up the good work.. and let me know if you ever want to work out I still go to the 24 hour fitness near your house..
