Default Foods Worth Dumping For !!!!

If you're like me, you hate the feeling of dumping. I feel nausiated <sp>, light headed, fatigue, shortness of breath, like I'm going to faint. I have to go lay down somewhere, with no noise around me. Then I have a bad case of diarrhea 20 mins. later. Therefore, I totally stay away from sugery foods that'll make me dump.

One of my favorite sweets is a German, or maybe it's an Amernian pastry called BAKLAVA, some even call it Bakalava. I was craving this for over 2 weeks. I finally decided that this has got to be the one and only food that I don't mind dumping for (if I dump at all). So I boldly went to the bakery and bought a med. size pkg. of Baklava. Let me tell you, one or two bites of a small piece had me on the floor, I crawled to the bed where I was rolling like crazy, then I dozed off for a min, then woke up and ran to the bathroom. Dumping has got to be the worst feeling I have ever felt. Now my finacee' is going to enjoy an entire package of Baklava. It makes me sick to look at it.

Oh well, we live and we learn.

I don't know how else to say this to you honey, but you are wasting your honeymoon period by cheating with that stuff. There will be plenty of time for that later. Right now you need to stick to the program. Especially at your weight, you will be lucky to get under 200 pounds as it is. I don't want to be mean, but if you start cheating now before you are even six weeks out, you are setting yourself up for failure.

There are no foods worth dumping for. Think of it as foods worth dying for? Are there any? I think not.

Hope you take heed.

I know that I worked for a Greek and his dessert from Greece was Baklava...it is way too sugary. I would be crawling on the floor in agony if I ate some. I guess it is a good thing to be reminded that we can't eat it anymore. Sorry you had to get so sick from it. I do it to myself a lot....eat sugar knowing I will dump and have to learn from it..yet I do it again and again...you think I would learn

I have to agree with Traci. I am not much further along then you but I am pertrified of dumping. I do not like to throw up and I hate the dizzy sweaty feeling that goes along with it. I have not even gone near anything with sugar. I have too much to worry about with getting in my protein. The only thing I did get sick on was a hard boiled egg, it sat like a lead brick in my pouch and I wanted to die just from that alone. I am sure dumping is way worse and it scares me to even think about that happening.
We have been given a great gift and opportunity to get this weight off once and for all. Concentrate on your protein and fruits and veggies they should help with the craving for something sweet. I had a really sweet yummy plum this afternoon, well half my son had the other half.
I hope we both make it to goal I know with the amount that we both have to lose it will be a challange but lets give it all we have! (((((hugs)))))))

I agree with Traci, no food is worth dumping for. Luckily I have not dumped yet, but I have never been nor am I a big sugar or sweets eater. I have that on my side. My weakness is fried foods. Sometimes when I go out I don't realize it's fried, but I don't dump..I just throw up almost right away.

Traci.....Don't get me wrong, I agree that there are no foods worth dumping for, there was just an idiotic moment where I thought it would be. It was only "an attempt" to cheat, but as you see, I didn't make it. I work out(exercise) an hour per day on a daily basis, I will get under 200 lbs, yes, even at my weight.

My post was merely just to inform people that "there are no foods worth dumping for". I'm sorry that everyone missed the point.

Thanks Dale.....I'm glad you could relate. I think for some of us (not all of us), a check sure doesn't hurt, it's a good reminder.

I got your point as well. We are all like kids about this new stomach pouch. Now you know eating Baklava will burn you. You put your hand on the stove and it hurt. Now baklava = sick to you and not something good. Not worth craving.

I don't think you went off program. You took 2 bites. I think the others were just trying to tell you to be careful. One bite here one bite there becomes new habits. try not to form new habits. I doubt you will be running for baklava any more. Habit changed right there.

Keep up the good work
