Yes, don't buy too much broth. I went crazy and had a ton left over. I was not very hungry at all after my surgery and had to make myself take fluids. I lived on apple juice, grape juice, etc. for the first two weeks afterward. (50% juice/50% water) Don't want to put TOO much natural sugar in your system. It made me sick to my stomach at times. I, also, did NOT take protein supplements until 4 weeks after my surgery. Getting enough fluids in is what you should worry about. I took 2 weeks off from work and was ready to go back at the beginning of the 2nd week. (I am a teacher) (I had laparoscopic surgery, open is different!) My best advice is to get lots of sleep in order to heal, have someone there to help you or check in on you, lots of fluids and RELAX! You might feel pretty bad at first, but I felt much better after my first month. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT! Oh, and I take chewable Centrum vitamins and chewable calcium tabs and sublingual B12 tabs from GNC. Hope this helps! Feel free to e-mail me privately with any further questions!
