Question Left flank pain

I remember people speaking of this left upper flank pain.. does anyone know where it comes from?? I have this pain that is coming and going on the left upper abdomen. Pretty much located on the side near my breast. I know that our new "pouchie" is sutured to the left side but it is not really in that area.. if it does not subside I will call the office. It's not really really painful but annoying painful with a stabbing feeling occasionally.. kind of wierd.. maybe just gas.. lol

Just wondered if anyone knew.. thanks in advance..

Talking Hilarious!

Bridget,

You are HILARIOUS! I was thinking the same thing. Do we have a flank?

Christina,

I have a shooting pain in my right "flank". Dr. Callery told me that this is some type of "reflex pain" coming from one of the incisions. He says this is normal. Does yours run underneath your rib?

Wink Call

I can probably list at least 6 things that I can think of that might be causing the pain. SInce I'm not a doctor, I hesitate to give medical advice. I would prefer to encourage you to call the office. That's what they are there for. Don't be afraid to "bug" them with post-op questions. Remember, this is really serious surgery with the possibility of having serious complications that can come up (sorry to use that term) at any time. My motto throughout the years I've been posting is "when in doubt, CALL".
