wow, so sorry you waited so long!!! I heard your body can try to fight off the band and so many people have had revisions. I planned a band first, but changed my mind after hearing the troubles people were having So sorry you were one of them.

My only regret is that I didn't figure it out sooner and get on a list to get this thing out of me. 3 and a half years of your life is a long time to live every moment of the day in agony. True full-on lapband rejection is rare, so none of my family, friends, or team of 7 doctors ever thought of it until I first mentioned it 9 months ago! (Weed and meditation for pain management makes things oh so clear sometimes.)
Just 7 more days until that thing is out of me and I can start to recover, get rid of the oxycontin addiction it gave me, let my nervous system start to heal, and begin my new beautiful life. I cannot wait.
In a beautiful way, I'm so happy this terrible nightmare happened to me. I hope I never forget how awful it feels, so I can forever spend every day running, laughing, playing, and living in pure bliss, never taking a moment for granted. I remember laying on the shower floor crying, begging God to take the pain away, that I'd do anything, that I was sorry for whatever I'd done to deserve this, that I'd learned my lesson, but I had no idea it would get even worse. People would tell me "Dez, I know you're hurting. I see that beautiful spark in your eyes is gone, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger." I'd get so angry every time. They didn't understand that some things are worse than death, that death would have been a blessing, a beautiful release. I was too angry, too bitter, too empty, too exhausted to understand.
Now I truly have learned that lesson, what doesn't kill you really does make you stronger. And that strength that I've gained is worth more than all the money in the world, because now I honestly feel like if I got thru this, I can do anything. I am so excited for the future, and so ready to live in bliss and strength.
Watch out world, just 7 more days.

Oh my days!
Congrats to everyone here. Yay!!
But in truth, I'm happy that finally i've got my date - but i'm scared now, really, really scared. I''m hoping that we'll all keep each other positive as we go forward.
Good luck everyone.

I don't feel scared, but I think my body is. I had a nightmare about it, kept waking up from my nap with my heart racing, and my body's shaking. I keep telling my body that everything is FINE, but it's not listening. This will be the 3rd surgery I've ever had so I'm not scared, but boy my body sure is. We're gonna be fine tho! We've waited so long, we can do this!

October 7th for me!
Thanks Hyachap for letting me know about this thread. Getting so nervous. I don't sleep well and am wondering how it's going to be for me with no meds to help that process. How soon can you start taking them after surgery - does anyone know? I have been trying to sleep without them and I am a wreck. I don't want to be hurting and not be able to sleep as well. Plus I have terrible migraines, well, migraines anyway - they are all terrible. How do we deal with that?
