Default Dumping or hypoglycimic

Okay so I am one who is blessed with dumping. I say that because I do look at it as a gift to keep my but in line. But twice I have had a severe reaction to eating too many sugars/fat. within about 10 min I was pukeing but then about an hour later I've gotten really dizzy and unable to focus on an object, my body shakes, and my heart rate goes crazy.
Now my reasurch into these things hypoglicimia is common in those of us with designer insides.

So if there is anyone who can advise am I just dumping or have I reason for concern. I have an apointment on Wen with my PCP but she is just learning about GBS patients.

The best way to tell would be to start taking your BG on your meter on a fairly reg. basis so you know where you fall when you're feeling okay.. then to repeat the tests when you feel sick.. take it at the onset of the ill feelings and repeat every 20/30 minutes till you're feeling better. You'll be able to tell right from there whether it has to do with your GB.

I do this.. I know where my sort of normal ranges fall and when I get the dizziness and other sort of hypo feelings, I'll test. So far, I've had some hypo situations a few times and this was how I confirmed what it was. (I was pretty sure they weren't dumping as I don't dump..but I don't eat much that would cause dumping, either.)

The fact that the dizziness and rapid heart rate doesn't happen for an hour makes me think it's not dumping. I think that usually happens right away. Well, for me it does, anyway. But I guess the only way to know for sure is to check your blood sugar.

I am glad you mentioned this! I have been thinking this very thing about myself! I CRASH after lunch sometimes. I get sick to my stomach, weak, lethargic and start shaking. It is awful! I have many a time thought about the hypoglycemia because it is always after lunch. I tried to eat my "bigger" meals earlier in the day due to I still have reflux. I think the next time it happens I am going to see if someone can check my Blood Sugar. It will be interesting to see if you are right.

There's also something called late dumping. It happens to me if I eat more carbs than my body thinks is okay. I do test my blood sugar during any dump ,just to get an idea of what's up.

If you don't have a glucose meter you should get one they have some that are very cheap or sometimes your pcp will have some and he/she can give you one...I have serious issues with low blood sugar I have gone as low as 30....Now last week when I had surgery they are telling me I have super low blood pressure...80/40 so now they are watching that to...I went from having high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes to low on both....go figure...But if you think your having glucose issues get a meter it will be your best way to figure out if it's late dumping or blood sugars...

Sounds like dumping but from a long time hypoglycemic the symptoms are similar but I get way more lightheaded and clammy when my sugar is low. I had a hard time when I first had surgery to get a hold on it but find if I eat every 2 1/2 - 3 hours my sugar stays stable.

I too am a dumper--VERY SENSITIVE TO SUGAR AND SUGAR ALCOHOL--only dumped twice--once on a protein bar with too much sugar alcohol and once on a very small serving of cantalope--horrible feeling--but I hope the dumping never goes away but again since I am so sensitive to those things I have no desire to test it so I may never know--lol
