Tired and cranky is certainly allowed!! You have every right to be!! I went back to work as well and it SUCKED!!!
I've thrown my multivitamin up twice but I think it's because I took it too close to eating or too close together with the other pills.
My incisions are tender but not to the point of hindering me, so I am thankful for that. Still have a great big dent though, so can't wait for that to straighten out!!
Tomorrow will be a better day - hang in there!!!

Thanks for being there!
Just got my computer fixed so I am back on line.
I am a June stapler. Had my bypass June 25. I am so glad everyone has been posting answers to my questions before I asked them! I of course thought I was the only one feeling like this, but I am in good company. Can anyone share when did your doctor say you can have soft foods on a bypass? I have seen so many variations I was curious.

My diet constists of 1 egg with cheese and avacado, 2 to 3 shrimp cooked in garlic and lemon juice, turkey and mozzarella(very thin) with spicy brown mustard and for snacks edamame and sometimes peaches packed in water/splenda and fage yogurt and muscle milk light protien shake. I also had some watermelon cause I was craving fruit really bad! hope this helps!

I went in for my 1 week yesterday, and my doc put me on soft foods. I've had mashed potatoes and scambled eggs and cheese so far and it's gone down fine. It is frustrating that every doctor does it differently!

Also cottage cheese or riccota cheese is good. We were allowed crisp bacon as long as you chewed it well. I got the turkey bacon with less sodium and fat. You might be able to eat tuna as long as it's moist. Always ask the doc or nut if you are not sure it's allowed - I started eating thicker meats and it was a little too soon! Oh, and flaky fish I believe you can have, too.
Today, I had vanilla fiber one yogurt and mixed a 1/2 scoop of strawberry protein in it and it was really good! The carbs are 14, which isn't too bad for yogurt, but it gave me 8 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber that way!! I had some sample packs of Chike protein powder, so that is what I used. Banana would be good too I suppose!!
Good luck and keep us posted!!

Thank you all for the encouraging words. I am sure that you all are right and soon 250 will be a blur. As soon as my scale drops into the 240s, I'll be rejoicing and let you all know!!!
Also, some were asking about what we are able to eat at what stages, well I have found that all surgeons/nuts are different and you should try to follow what they say. I say try because I too ate watermelon before I was supposed to, but I wanted it soooo bad, and it is mostly water, right? I am still trying to find what I can eat. I get sick on protein shakes and yougurt. Everyday is a new challenge for me. My pouch seems to change its mind on a daily basis. Hope that stops soon.

wow... you guys are on food!! I have been on protein for the last 3 weeks. I have "sneaked" very soft mashed potatoes, and today I tried puree'd summer veggies, even though I am going in for a 3 week check tomorrow and have not been cleared for anything other than protein!!
I am thinking that the puree' slides right down, since I have been able to eat about 6 oz at a time...spoonfulls of course, and about 20 mins to eat it.
I am sure this will change once I start eating something else.
someone mentioned bagged beans in another thread.. are they any good? or should I stick to canned beans? I really wanted to avoid all that sodium in the canned. Pretty sure I can boil the bagged beans to mush. anyone try beans yet?

I have had the baked beans. The only reason, though, is because I needed something else with fiber and protein. My NUT said it was fine and just not all the time.
I just looked for the ones with the lowest carbs per serving. Didn't really pay attention to sodium, though. Plus I eat 1/2 a serving only. These are not the best beans - probably the worst to have, though, so if you can stomach other types, then for sure have those.
Some people really like chili, so you could puree that a little more to make it softer. When you get cleared for that stage, that is!! I tried to make my own beans from bagged white beans but they turned out horrible (to me), I'm sure they are much better than canned, though, so go for it!!

food
I couldn't help it. I started tiny amounts of food once or twice after I got home. Not the best idea I had. Plus I try new stuff all the time. Then back to what works. I had some almonds and walnuts today. A little rough but didn't get sick. My surgery was on 6/2 so I can start with some food. I finally made "Onederland"! Now my nest goal will be 179lbs. Maybe by mid Aug. I hope it doesn't take too long.

I can't blame you!! I didn't really go off the plan until about 2 weeks out and then I tried some hamburger and chicken. Very small amounts and I followed to rule of chewing really well. I actually chewed 30 or more times to be sure, but have gone back to the softer foods until the end of the month when I should be cleared for most everything. You are almost at 6 weeks, so you should be good soon! I am hoping to see 180 by the end of July myself!! Good luck to us!!!
