I'm going through a phase where I just DONT want to eat. I'm not hungry and food repulses me. I have to MAKE myself eat. I hardly ate anything today, and I know if I don't get on the ball I will start feeling bad/weak. I am taking my vitamins. I'm with ya'll. Food is frustrating and a pain. I'm somewhat used to it since I had the band before. I couldn't get ANYTHING to go down the band except chips and dip. It was so annoying. Guess I'll suck it up and do softies for 4 more weeks, and then finally get to eat something good. I wish I could sleep till then. LOL.
Is anyone else feeling like they have heartburn or indigestion sometimes?
My stomach is still swollen from surgery, the scale hasn't moved in 5 days. I'm annoyed with this all today. LOL

I will say that things get a bit better. After 5 weeks, I actually didn't have pains of things getting stuck, or going in too fast. I now just feel really full and nauseaous (spelling). But I enjoy food more now than I did a week ago. I still have moments that I don't want to eat. I was thrilled when I could add salad. For some reason I really wanted that.
When I went to the doctor, he told me that having no appetite is what the surgery does. He told me that between 6 months and 1 year, we will probably start to get our appetites back and have to really watch what we eat and make sure that we exercise. I guess that we will be able to eat more things then too. Cuz he told me that I have to be really really careful.
Damn it, I was hoping that this feeling would last for a really long time so that I am not hungry and hate food. Now I am scared that I will gain weight back and end up with all of the other ailments from before. I will just have to be really really careful. I guess that we all will. Thanks for letting be ramble! Have a good night everyone.

I've read posts on here where people months, even years out say they still don't have an appetite, so it still might be that way!! I have to say at first I didn't have an appetite at all but lately I've felt hungry quite a few times!! Today was one of them! I meant to have a protein shake at 4 but I had to leave work unexpectedly so I never had it. By 6 when I got home, I was sooo hungry!! That's why I'm sure I ate too fast.
Either way at the rate we are going, we will be real used to being very careful later on!!

FWIW- I am 3 weeks tommorrow and I dropped 15lbs in the first week or 10 days, then the scale didn't start moving again until 2 days ago and now I am 20lbs down so it is just part of the process, it'll happen.

You know what I am starting to realize? Food is a pain in the ass now! Things smell great but after wondering if it will make me sick, measuring, chewing until it is goo, and finally swallowing, sometimes it just doesn't even seem worth the effort let alone taste good. I still do it though because I know I have to but enjoy and crave it? Not so much.
I agree. I keep looking in the fridge at the same five things and wondering what else can I eat? Do I have enough protein? Is this something I can eat? Will it make me sick

i feel the same way. i told me NUT yesterday i cant stand eating. its a pain, that i am scared something will get stuck so i stick the same 5 foods. Nikkie i can’t believe watermelon got stuck..i would think that would be no problem. Funny part i my NUT told me try some watermelon yesterday.

That’s exactly what i keep thinking. ughh to bad they didn’t operate on my head i know i should be looking at this as a opportunity but from failed diets before i keep expecting to fail. So when the darn scale doesn’t move I get mad. Well enough whining.
My dr appt went well I am open to try all foods and they would like me to keep a food journal. They pretty much feel that I am not eating enough of a variety for being 6 weeks out. So I guess I should start branching out today.
So today is my oldest birthday he is turning 11! I am going to take him to go see harry potter so that should be fun.

I have noticed when I go for long periods of time without eating, I kinda get hungry. I am not sure if it is me actually being hungry, or my body telling me to eat. Haven't figured that out yet. But I know what you guys mean. Then my hubby just tells me to remember to go slow, but sometimes it is hard.
I have tried no sugar frozen yogurt twice and ended up on the toilet for hours both times. I guess I can add that to my do not eat list. (shoot, I love ice cream )
