Default Scar Indention?

I had surgery on the 30th, and am about to be discharged from the hospital, and I noticed when I was changing that one of my incesions is really indented compared to the rest of my stomach. Did anyone else have this? I'm hoping its swelling, but the nurse didnt seem to think my stomach was swollen.

Yep!

The scar on my left just under my ribcage where they put the put big stuff through is indented.

You can see it on my pic. taken a year after surgery: ThinnerTimes - Gastric Bypass and Lap BandŽ Forum - Corrine's Album: My tummy at 5 days (drain and all), at 13 months and then after emergency surgery - Picture

yup, it's normal. my surgeon told me that the stitch was connected to a muscle or something.

it gradually evened out over the first month or so.

Oh good. I feel better. Now if I can just get the pain to go away. It's such a chore getting up to go to the bathroom. LOL

Moving will make your recovery easier and faster Monique.

You really need to be getting up to walk every hour or so.

Yep same thing happened to me on the left side where all the work was going on .. and the only thing that helped the pain was moving around. If I just layed in bed too long getting up was excruciating ... so try to move as much as possible even if its only walking up and down the hall

It seems like everyone's indention was on the left side...mine is on the right??? Maybe because I had a band removed, and that's where the port was.
