So Emotional!!
Has anyone experienced being more emotional than usual after surgery? It seems that some days I'm just ready to cry at the drop of a hat! Like some days I just get all emotional and start cryin and bein all upset about random crap with my boyfriend. I think its starting to bother him and I have GOT to stop... its mostly like insecurity but I'm more emotional about it all right now for some reason??? Anyone had this happen? Any advice?

I don't know for sure, I am no dr. but you are young and weight plays a huge role in how your hormones work and as you loose weight your hormones are gonna kick it into high gear. Maybe that is all it is. It may be worth seeing your MD though. They have stuff you can take so you can feel better. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for the advice! Its really bothering me, I dont wanna end up losing my boyfriend over me just being emotional. Maybe Ill go to the MD about it or just ask Dr Champion, my bariatric surgeon when I go see him for my 3 month visit here in a week or two. Thanks

For me it was an on going thing until my weight loss slowed down. I started thearpy about 3 months out and they put me on Paxil to help me and let me tell you I've very happy they did because it has helped me so much. My Dr. told me that hormones are stored in your fat so when you are losing weight so fast it just sends all kinds of crazy hormones out into your body. Remember to take it one day at a time and it's all normal.
Wishing you all the best and if you need to talk I'm here for you. I'm just over a year out now and things have finally calmed down for me.

girl you are not alone! I have been like that off and on since my wls. I'm 5 months out and have been feeling really off for a few days. If it doesn't pass soon I'm gonna see the doc but I guess it's just kinda the nature of wls. If you need to talk anytime send me a PM. I'll be happy to give you a call wherever you may be!

Well you recognized it, so first of all apologize to your boyriend for acting like a maniac, and just try to learn to laugh at yourself.... I guess it depends on WHAt he is doing that is driving you bananas.. if its stupid stuff.. then laugh. If its serious stuff, tell us about it.. Im curious. LOL No Im not. Things are stressful, just had major surgery, at least 3 hours of anesthesia, your losing hormones, you dont eat as much, your not eating what your used to , your probably still out of work and right now you are living underneath a microscope... you know how folks love to watch ya eat now..... so relax, you have every right to be trippin' so now-laugh about it.. YA KOOK!
If you dont snap out of it, then there's a problem. Best wishes always!

Thank you so much! Maybe I should ask my Dr about going back on Zoloft. I was on it for awhile, but then I went off of it for like a year or so and everything was fine, no problems. Maybe I need it again. THanks!

Thank you so much! That makes me feel so much better, knowing that someone is willing to listen and that I'm not the only one being a little crazy. Much appreciated!
