I have chosen to stay off the diet coke for life. I had a 12 pack a day habit. I also saw a segment on The Early Show that said even diet sodas have been shown to cause weight gain. My doc said if I had to have one (this was a pre op conversation cause I thought i couldn't quit) to shake it up and open it and leave it in the fridge to go flat then drink it. Who wants a flat bottle of pop?

I hear ya! It is the only thing I have been craving. I finally had to have someone take the little left over cans I had out of the house today. I was saving them for company but decided it was too much torment for me to have them around!

Question Carbonation

Nini:

If you search for "carbonation" on this forum, I'm sure you'll read lots of differing opinions on the subject. The bottom line is that you have to decide for yourself!

My personal story is...I had been a six-pack a day Mountain Dew drinker since I was 15 years old. Now, I won't go back there. I'm already past it and don't need it any more.

Good luck with your decision!

I too was a severe diet coke addict. Me and one of my roomates used to put our english papers off till the last minute so we'd stay up all night doing them and drinking diet cokes. We always got A's, so we said the secret to our success was diet coke! haha But then I got to thinking after surgery, they say coke can take the paint off of cars if its left there... would you really want to put something like that in your new little pouch? But to each their own I guess! :-D
