Unhappy Complications...Back to the Hospital

I was readmitted back into Pomerado Hospital on Friday in fear of dehydration and I was feeling really bad in an attempt to eat anything, when test revealed that I'm suffering from swelling and narrowing in the area that allows food to travel from the stomach to the small intestine. Therefore, my foods are backing up in my stomach and into my esophagus, I was even throwing up my water. My nurse said that typically, that area should have been healed by now, but my Physicians say that I'm apparently healing slower than others and that everyone heals differently. If worst comes to fruition, he says he will have to go in and install a device to inflate and open the narrowing.

We will give it a couple of weeks to see if the swelling will descend, meanwhile, I'm back on soups. The good news is, test revealed that there is no leakage and I feel pretty good when I'm not eating.

I was discharged yesterday after getting on everyone's last nerve to let me out of there (thanks Kelly and Dr. Callery) .

I will keep you all updated. Thanks for listening.

Yolanda,

I'm sorry you're still feeling bad. I had my surgery July 5. I had something like that happen to me the day after surgery. I was dehydrated for a couple of days too. They took me off all food and put me on iv fluids for a day then I started again slowly. Things went better the second time. I will pray for you. May God bless you with healing and strength. I also have a freind who had to have her opening stretched a couple of times. Take one day at a time and go slow. I wish you well.

Yolanda I wish I was there to help you through some of your discomfort. Hopefully with time things will get better. I know how hard you work to get this far and I know it is rough but I know you are a fighter and you will see this through. My prayers are with you that things will heal up on its own. Smiles.

Take care andsip, sip, sip all day long even if you don't feel thirsty. I got caught in the beginning and was admitted for dehydration as well. Take care of yourself and I will be praying for you.
