Default Tummy Tuck with Dr. Reavie

Hello everyone,

I feel like a newbie posting on here since it has been so long, but I used to post on here all the time. I had open GBS 17 months ago with Dr. Callery. I've lost 150 lbs. and have kept it off, so now I am taking the step to have a tummy tuck. My surgery date is July 26 with Dr. Reavie who is just across the street from Dr. Callery's office. Anyone been through this with Dr. Reavie? If so, what was your expierence like? I am a little nervous since he will not be putting me under general anastesia, but just gasing me. My fear is I will feel it or something.

Blessings,
Mindy

Mindy~

Long time since I saw your face on a post...glad to know you are doing well.

How can he do that surgery under gassing you? I had a bad experience under general recently with my TT/hernia repair where I wasn't completely out and I could feel it...until they noticed on their monitor that I was in trouble. It was so traumatic. I don't mean to scare you at all....just never heard that they can do a TT under gas....maybe it will be ok because they are removing the skin and suturing and maybe numbing the area, so you can't feel it. I sure hope it all goes well for you. Don't worry..just put all of your faith in the hands of your Doctor.

I will be praying for you.

Hi Dale,
Good to hear from you! That sounds just awful with your TT/Hernia repair! Must admit, it does scare me. But not enough to give up on the surgery. Not sure about the gasing thing. I have my pre-op TT appointment next week and will go over it then. I don't have to be in the hospital, its done in his office in the operating room and then they move me to the recovery room. Should take about 4 maybe 5 hours before I go home. I was just wondering if anyone out there went to Dr. Reavie. He is on Dr. Callery's list of recomendations that Kelly gave to me at my 1 year post-op appt.

blessings,
Mindy

Sounds like you will be fine...Dr. Callery is very intelligent and if he recommended Dr. Reavie then I am certain you are in good hands. Good luck to you and let us know how it goes. How exciting for you and so lucky you can do it outpatient instead of being in the hospital.
