Hair, Hair, everywhere....
Okay, guys I knew it would come.
Somehow reading the posts I thought it would be a walk in the park. But, I am disgusted by my hair loss.
I spend the day picking long strands of hair off of my blouse, off of my desk, off of my office chair. There is hair all over my car, all over my bed, clumps in the shower drain and tons in my brush.
Last week I was cooking dinner for my husband and as I am cutting up a potato there was a strand stuck to my wet hand that would not come off. It is everywhere. And, no matter how much I brush or pick or pull there are still a ton more that fall out.
I don't care if I end up bald. I have considered shaving my head because I can't stand foot long hairs everywhere. I complain about my cats shedding. But, human hair is worse.
This is so gross. When will it end?
AHHHHHHHHH.

Bless your heart.... I have no idea when it will end (still pre-op). But welcome to my world! I have 500 pounds of hair, and it falls out all the time. Everywhere! It always has. Get a lint brush, and wear it up. That's all I can say.... good luck!

Lost my hair starting at 3 months and then it started to re-grow around 8 months. Now since my hernia repair / TT surgeries....and another to fix the repair again within the same month....my hair is just awful....it is falling out again and the texture is disgusting. I went out and bought some hair pieces to make it look a bit better, but it is kinda hard to hide the straw-looking hair. The depression of everything going on doesn't help either.

Melane,
Mine started falling out at 2 months post op and didn't stop until I reached around 10 months. I now have these wild hairs that stick straight up.
It will stop when you can eat more to sustain growth.
Funny, I thought I would shave my head too.

I just about did! I went from below the shoulder to 2 inch spikes. At least, with short hair, you don't notice it falling out as much. I think the hair loss was from 3-9 months for me.

I know how you feel! I'm losing mine too. I just went and got a cute shorter cut and now I'm picking off short hairs instead, but it does seem less noticable.

Oh I so want to cry right now! My hair is down to my butt, it has taken me forever to grow it out My Dr told me to take biotin and zinc and to be sure that I get in at least 60 grams a day of protein, I pray it works.

On a trip to a victorian mansion (Bidwell Mansion) in Chico, CA they have framed hair pieces. Apparently, women of victorian times would collect the hair from the family brushes and it was intricately weaved together to look like flowers. The different colors of hair within the household allowed for different colors to accent the floral designs. Everytime I pluck little lifeless hairs off my clothing I think of those hair wreaths. Instead I try my best to make the clumps fall into the trash can but there are so many of them. It is really discouraging. My hair has always been my pride and now it it is in the trash, quite literally.
I asked my husband (who is bald on top) if he remembers when he started to lose his hair. He claims it thinned over time so he was never shocked by the amount that fell out and never really noticed it. Even though he has the same balding patter as Homer Simpson (the few squiggley hairs on top) he didn't notice it? I thought a balding man would understand. Maybe I am just whining too much but this is truly disappointing.
