Default Anyone else have problems with protein bars?

They go down Ok but after about 20 min they feel like a rock in my chest. I do not eat the whole thing at once only 1/2 at a time but they sure sit like lead bricks.

Default Same thing for me

To this day, I still can't handle them. They feel like a rock and they make me just feel awful for such a long time. I wish I could handle them.

Naty little bricks. I could only handle 2 bites. So I gave up on them. I have tried dozens of brands and flavors...all taste like chalk. I stick to seafood, nuts and mixable protein powder for my daily intake.

I had a lot of trouble at first and it takes me a whole day (at least) to eat one. I like the Atkins berry granola bars and the chocolate chip granola bars they seem to be a little lighter than some of the others I have tried.

Default protein bars

initially when i tried protein bars i thought i would never eat them again. i felt so sick. now 2 years later they're my best friend for a snack. i have one every afternoon for a snack. my favorite ones are the zone bar or the luna bar. some of them are pretty disguisting.

Default protein bars

My favorite is the Atkins Chocolate Peanut butter bar. It has 19 grams of protein, 1 gram of sugar, a little high in calories @ 240 but soooooo yummy. The Atkins Chocolate Chip granola bar is really good too, 200 calories and 17 grams of protein, 2 grams of sugar alcohol. Ive tried lots of Power bars in the last year because I got tired of Protein shakes early on. I find the Atkins bars on sale and stock up, less chance to make a bad food choice with these on hand .

AdvantEdge....I think it is by EAS.....I love the chocolate brownie, basically anything with chocolate flavor...lol. They have about 20g protein, around 200-240 calories, and no more than 3 g sugar. YUM! Also, I eat the South Beach breakfast bars......10g protein, low sugar, only about 100-150 calories. I was told that it is ok to have the bars on a regular basis IF it is about 1g protein for every 10-15 calories. If it is less protein for more calories, it is ok every once in awhile, but don't make a habit of it......

Anyone tried the Chef Jay's Tri-o-plex protein bars? These dudes have approx. 30 grams of protein and are whole grain so they break down slower. They're a large-sized bar at over 4 ounces so you can easily make one bar into 2 servings. They're dense, a little crumbly, and a bit high on the calories, but they taste kinda like less-sweet muffins or coffee cake and I've never dumped on them despite being fairly sensitive to sugars.

Some of the chocolatey protein bars make me feel nasuated and often don't even taste very good so I'm always on the lookout for non-chocolate protein bars. I prefer bars to powders for convenience sake at work - no room or time for breaking out a blender to whip up a protein smoothie.
