Default Very Frustrated

Hi Everyone,

I am not sure if I am doing this right but here goes. I had my surgery on June 8th 2004 and have lost a total of 23 pounds. But I have not lost any weight for the last 10 days and I don't understand why. I exercise twice a day on my recumbent bike 30 min each time. I drink plenty of water and I have a protein drink in the morning and eat chicken with cooked veggies, low-fat cottage cheese light cream cheese on crackers, sugar free fat free chocolate pudding, fruits like watermelon, cantelope, bananas. I sometimes eat baked tortilla chips with salsa, hamburger meat with veggies. So am I eating too much or not enough I am not sure. Could someone help me. I also am due to have my period in 7 days.

Thanks

Kate

my only suggestion would be how many crackers are you eating. concentrate more on protein first, then fruits vegs and crackers last. when i was where you were i didn't have room for crackers or breads by the time i had my protein. make sure you get 64 oz of water in this heat. good luck

Many people lose a big chunk of weight 12-15 lbs. in the first 10 days then little or nothing for the next few weeks while the body is trying to adapt. Then the weight loss becomes steady or in weight loss chunks every 1-2 wks. Everyone is different. GET OFF OF THE SCALE!!!!!! Do not weigh more than every 2 wks or at the most every week. Put your scale in your car trunk to decrease the temptation.
Trust the process! You are doing just fine. Stick with mostly protein and veggies with a little fruit. Drink your water constantly but not immediately before or after eating. Crackers, chips, and cream cheese are not good choices to have on a regular basis, even after you lose most of your weight. You will lose faster and make the most of your honeymoon period by minimizing those carbohydrates and fats. After you eat protein, there shouldn't be much room left in your new pouch at only 5wks postop. Hang in there. You can't help but lose weight in the early postop months. But establish good habits.
