Default blood sugar 75

I had my Dad test my blood sugar yesterday......Isn't that really low? My pre-op sugar was 114.

When did you test? In the morning before breakfast? After eating lunch?

glucose changes according to diet, of course, it appears your one week post-op so your diet has changed...levels change in relationship to when you last ate---were you fasting when that was done (like first thing in the morning) or was it post-pandrial (after a meal) and how soon after the meal.

if your fasting glucose was 114 before surgery than you had Impaired Glucose Tolerance (IGT) or pre-diabetes. Normal — Fasting plasma glucose (FPG) <100.

For most people --sweating, anxiety, palpitations, hunger, and tremor occur as blood glucose concentrations fall below 55. You usually see early cognitive dysfunction with blood glucose concentrations of approximately 50.

Again this is different for everyone, some people get symptoms of low blood sugar at higher numbers.

When I was first out of surgery my blood sugar went as low as 65. I could actually tell when it was low...I would get all tingly all over. It went away about 2 or 3 weeks post-op. Good Luck!

yes my pre-op number was fasting. Now I am still on liquids.

Thanks so much for your help. Just wanted to make sure I am normal post-op.
