Default My Clothes Feel Strange

Okay I have to admit...I've been running around the house this past week in a nightgown. Today I'm dressed and my clothes feel odd....Like I've been wearing them all week....Ya know that stretched out feeling of a dirty pair of jeans.

I don't have a working scale, (that thing was exiled years ago for lying to me ), but I do have a tape measure so I pulled it out.

Five days before my surgery, I took my measurements as a reference point marking the beginning of my wls journey.

June 12th - 47.5"
June 29th - 45.5"

That's 2" in just twelve days! Is this really happening? I guess I need a scale so I can start tracking my weight loss.

Ok from my personal experience,I should have never gotten a scale.I became obsessed with weighing myself. In the beginning you lose so fast and that scale keeps moving down, then you hit a plataeu(sp?) and you freak out.I was weighing myself more than once a day and driving myself crazy. Now I weigh myself once a week and feel much better, your weight changes throughout the day and if I only do it once a week I dont stress over every other pound.
As for the clothing issue its weird.Im having problems realizing what size I am.I went from a 28/30 now into 14/16.I either get clothes that are baggy or seem to tight. Its great I just have to get used to the smaller me

Way to go Peck! I have to say the best advice I have been given since wls is-STAY OFF THE SCALE!!! I don't own one so every time I want to weigh I have to go to my grandmothers or wait until I go to the doc. I try not weigh more than once a week or ever other (Thats the goal but it's hard!) It is much better to get on the scale and have lost 3 lbs, than to get on and have lost 1/2 lb or nothing. Glad your doing so well!

Thumbs up

So exciting!!! It may have happened to you already, but it is soooo cool when you put on something that always fit perfectly before and now it's so loose that it looks silly on you! People will tell you that your bottom's hangin' and you need new pants! The changes will amaze you!

Congratulations... and if you go out and buy a new scale, hide it from yourself because you'll be on the dang thing all the time!

Way to go!

Thanks for the advice everyone....I haven't made it to the store for a new scale....Taking a shower and getting dress gets me all tuckered out and I need a nap. *L* I'm hoping my strength rebounds soon. In the meantime I'll have to settle for waist measurements.

Ahh yes, weight scales.

I used to hold a gun to mine when I got on. Never could intimidate the bloody thing! I've not had one for a very long time. I only use the Health-O-Meter scale at the gym (that is, when I finally decide to go.)

i have kept my clothes from the past as i got fatter and fatter and know i can wear shirts that don't stretch the button holes. i love that feeling. having to wear suspenders is a joy, not a greif.

!!!!YOU GOT TO LOVE IT BABY!!!!

I love the scale,

I had and old scale that was driving me crazy. So recently, last week I bought a new one. Weight Watchers has some really great scale out and they are the most accurate scales out there for a resonable price. The one I bought I got at Rite Aid for $39. They also have them at Walmart, and bed bath and beyond or you can orde them on line.

I use the scale to keep me on track. If I get on it which I do daily. (not out of sickness) and it is up a little bit or stayed the same for a long time it encourages me to exercise or stay on track with my eating. If it is down I say "thank you Jesus" and then move on with my day a total happy camper. I must admit that in the beggining I was a little crazy about weighing myself. But now I love it.
I love the new digital scale this way I can not bounce it to make the weight change. If ya know what I mean.

Default The tale of the Tape,

I urge all of you to keep track of your measurements. When the scale doesn't move, you will find comfort in the feet (yes, I mean feet - not inches) that you have lost.
