Default 4 days post op

I am four days post op now and not really having any problems. I am still taking some pain meds, but that is only in the morning when I wake up and after my last walk for the day. Yesterday, I drank a lot of fluids. I am on a clear liquid diet, and I had over 100 ounces within the 24 hours. It worried me, that I was able to drink so much, but I never felt sick. Today, however, I have only been able to have roughly 64 ounces. Is there a point where you drink too much water? I have my 1 week follow up on Thursday. I'm really looking forward to that. I'm ready to get my staples out. I have 18 of them. They shaved my stomach (due to PCOS, I am kinda hairy) and it itches sooo bad and I'm afraid I'm going to accidentally snag a staple.

I started leash training my kitten today on m y last walk. He is 2 1/2 months old and I think he loved it. It was a 20 minute walk, and he did the whole thing without being picked up. it's the cutest! I have to walk slow for him, but he walks at my pace for right now lol. I hope everyone is doing good.

I told my husband today that I can't wait until I am on soft foods. To be able to see that I can in fact only consume a few bites at a time will make this seem more real. He said, does the fact that you haven't had anything heavier than chicken broth since thursday and you are not hungry prove anything to you? And honestly, it doesn't. I want to see proof. Did anyone else feel this way?

Sorry for rambling, this is the most awake I have been since my surgery.
Heather

Staples!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! eeeek! When I read I was like huh? staples are inside.. Omg I got the laproscopic gastric bypass where they just put 6 holes in.. omg i dont think i could take looking at stapled in my belly. All i got is these steri strips... Ive been consuming a lot of liquids too. Crazy thing is I made my own protein shake today ( my mom has been the last 5 days) and holy ****!!! She was putting in 4 scoops thinking they were 20 grams each and really i was consuming 160 grams of freakin protein a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dunno what this means... but thank God I did my own today... I wonder if i can walk that much ? I have only been making laps around the living room... maybe ill start tomorrow.. i get light headed sooo incredibly easy though. I dunno y. I also cant wait to eat actual food this liquid diet is driving me nuts!!! I don't feel like this hasnt happened.. Its as real as it gets due to the constant gas burping, noises, uncomfortable belly feeling lol I know I got it done.. Its real lol Good luck at doctors I go the same day

my surgery was done lap. as well. I have gas and burping as well. The staples don't bother me when I see them, they are just itchy. I wish they hadn't used staples, but I will survive lol. I can't have protein shakes until I'm on the full liquid diet which will start on Thursday. I am ready for that, but still it won't make a difference on my hunger as I am not hungry lol, but I would like to chew. I really want an egg with some cheddar cheese lol.
Heather,

Welcome to the Loser's bench Heather! Hope the rest of your recovery is as easy as your first 4 days! The liquid diet gets sooooo boring, but it just makes the advance to soft foods so much better! Keep up the good work!

Mine was done lap and I have 17 staples. They are due out this Friday - 3 weeks post op! I am ready for them to go. They have all migrated inward towards the incision so there will be nice train-track scars on my tummy when they're out.

That is very good that the kitty is your walking buddy. I have 2 small dogs that I couldnl't keep up with if I tried, but my daily chores and such get me the exercisin' I need.

Soon enough you will see that more than a few bites can send you running to the can. When it does, I hope you think of us LOL.
