I have noticed, though, that each surgeon/program is different where some can have soft foods as early as 1 wk post op.

Mine put me on soft/pureed foods at 1 week. I'll be on regular foods next week (4 weeks).

As for feeling hungry: Me too! I'm hungry a LOT, and it's actual hunger pangs, not head hunger. If I don't put at least something small in there I get nauseous. Sometimes chewing on ice helps, but usually not. I thought it was just me, so I'm glad to know I'm not alone. My FNP at the bariatric center told me I wouldn't feel hungry again for months, so I was pretty surprised the first time I felt it.

Hey Ezarella- I've notice that in time your stomach adjusts and you will not feel that hungry all the time. I've lost 45 lbs since my surgery in June and I thought I wasn't losing because I was eating a lot. I'm not as hungry as I was after surgery, I eat about 2 meals a day with a couple of snacks in between like a fruit or cheese. I can eat basically anything I want-but I really have to be in the mood for it. Sometimes I'm fine just drinking low cal juices and eating cheese and crackers for a day. Each day is different and your stomach will tolerate things today that it can't tolerate tomorrow... its so weird.
Be patient with your lil tummy and don't rush solid foods even though it is soooo tempting! Be sure to fill up on protien also, it helps stall the hunger. If not the protein drinks then foods that have tons of protien such as tuna and cheese. Those are my two fav foods Take care and keep me updated.
