I would recommend Champion Whey Protein (Chocolate or Banana) with skim milk or Nectar Protein (all flavors) with water. Hopefully you can find them near you... but you can always find them online if not!

thanks guys for your suggestions, I very much appreciate it. OK now tell me one thing- is it normal to feel hungry after drinking fluids? Maybe its all in my mind- who knows. But my mind/stomach is badly craving other foods that I cant have right now and it's kinda makin me feel down. Does everyone goes through this or just me?? Let me know that I'm not alone in this...

What were you expecting lil mama? The head hunger thing is a real trip to try and get used to..... we ate all the time whenever we FELT like it. Now its critical to detrmine your feelings... are they real hunger pangs or head hunger... totally stinks. In the long run it will be all worth it. You will have optimal health in both the body and mind!

Default Hunger?

I didn't want anything for about a month. Any time I drank or ate anything, I felt like throwing up. And I usually did. Eventually, I had to take Reglan to reduce the nausea. I still get "oogy" almost every time I eat and I'm 5.5 months out now. Hopefully, I will stop eating too fast or too much or the wrong thing (if I ever figure out what that is) and won't keep getting sick.

Fortunately, I don't think most people go thru this.

I know in the long run it will be worth it, I'm already off my diabetic medication so I know its only going to get better but in the process one may get discouraged or even depressed. I got the isopure vanilla protien shake, I'm thinking what can I mix it with so I won't dislike it much. How in the world will I be able to drink 12 oz of this protien each morning? Are you guys able to drink all of it?

I add international foods sugar free powder coffee/tea mixes to the isopure to make it drinkable. Also, I don't use as much water (about 4 oz to a scoop) to help make it easier to drink it. I am struggling to get all of the protein I need so I bought some unflavored protein powder to try mixing in my yogurt & cottage cheese.

The protein is definitely a challange, but getting off your meds is a huge success. My weight loss has stalled twice in the last 6 weeks (I am 6 weeks post op tomorrow) so I understand how easy it is to get discouraged. This forum really helps keep things in perspective for me so that I can focus on the positive aspects.

I hope all goes well with you.

Thanks angie, but I've tried the isopure in vanilla and it just wont go down! I tried it with crystal light sunrise orange drink and it just got worst! So since I paid 40 bucks bucks for it my fiance said he will drink it...lol He could use the extra protien in his diet anyway. I'm going to try the atkins chocolate drink, and if that don't work I'm going to search for a non flavored protein powder. Mt stomach is very sensitive, if it doesn't agree with something...it will come right back up. I want to drink a protien shake that I'm not afraid of throwing back up. Today I feel better I guess cause I'm taking my vitamins and cal. Hey angie, when would I be able to eat soft foods if i make a week post op on friday. Can you tell that I'm sick of both..lol Thanks for the info.
