7 months post op....how are you doing?
I had surgery June 5, 2008. I have lost almost 100 lbs (includes pre-op). I have lost 41.5 inches since surgery date and 63.2 lbs. I weighed in at Curves at `79 yesterday and the lady said "You dont look like you wiegh that much". I wasnt thrilld with that! But, I am 5'9". I am into a size 14. I dont think I want to loose any more, but I am interested in toning up more. My whole family just joined a gym and we will go as a family. I am so excited for the change. Curves was a good place to start, but now I want even more. People are starting to ask me if I am healthy. I havent told many people about my surgery, just played the whole weigh loss plan having started last year. Even my kids think I am getting too thin.
About eating, I can eat everything. Well, not Chinese Foods, sausage or anything fatty. Sweets and such, I dont dump. Cannot drink milk, which I miss alot! I have tried soymilks and they are too sweet for me, even the no sugar ones. No ice cream for me. I do nibble through the day, but on nuts, beef jerky, fruit, yogurt. Nothing ealse really bothers me.
I am COLD all the time!

I'll be 7 months post-op in a few days. I've lost about 92 total and about 73 since surgery, but nothing in the last month. I weigh about 207, so I have at least 47-55 more to go. I used to dump on sugar, even low amounts, and deep fried. I haven't had anything fried in months, but I tolerate a little sugar now. I know I need to cut my calories down (I'm at about 1000, need to be at about 700) to start losing again. And I need to exercise more, but I've been sick for a week with a horrible cold.

I'll be 8 months out on January 8th. I have lost 82 pounds and look thin from the waist up. I think I may be thinner than I am seeing - but I wear a 12 on top and 16 on the bottom. I wear a size 14 dress! I am about 5ft 4 inches and weigh 150 pounds - naked, before breakfast. I don't suppose the surgeon will let me weigh in naked in his office in February, tho'. (for my 9 mo follow-up).
I miss getting out to walk in the bluffs around here. But when the wind chill is -10 degrees, I don't like to go outside.
By the way, I rode the rides with my 5-year-old granddaughter at Mall of America last weekend! ya-hoo!
Love,
Rose

Lol, I misread that Rose. I thought you said "I miss getting out to walk in the BUFF." I was thinking you certainly were a wild woman if you walk around your neighborhood naked.
As for me....my surgery was 5/29/08, so I'm just a bit over 7 months. My starting weight was 274, my surgery day weight was 253. I'm 174.6 now, so I've lost 99.4 lbs altogether. I'm so excited that I'll reach that magical 100 lbs lost soon.
I started off wearing size 22/24 pants and 2x tops. Right now, I'm wearing size 12 petite jeans, and either medium or large tops, depending on how they're made.
Most of my health problems have resolved themselves. No more high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or high triglycerides. I think my sleep apnea is gone, although I haven't went back for another sleep study yet.
As far as food...I can tolerate nearly anything, which sucks at times. It takes a lot more will power than I thought it would.
I've hardly lost anything since the beginning of December. I got a bit out of control during the holidays and ate lots of stuff I shouldn't have. I'm trying to get back on track now, since I definitely want to lose another 30 lbs.

I am a big LOSER too. I have lost 96.4 lbs pre-op as well . I was 276.4 and now right at 180 fully dresses , shoes and all. I still have trouble eating alot of things though. I am at a stall right now for the past 6-7 weeks. I was doing too much protein Yeh too Much they say now. I was up to 100 grams a day. They say to stay between 65 and 80 no matter what to keep losing.
I am happy for all of you. Lets continue to be LOSERS.

hey leighan I am a californian too and am 7 months today!!!! The road has had its ups and downs but I love the new me!!!!! I can eat most things now but still in very small amounts. I am not good at eating 3 meals a day. Most days I only eat 2 but am really trying to get in 3 since doc says I need to stop losing. I am just about at goal and have had many people think I have a disease because it has come off so fast. My parents think I am becoming anorexic, believe me I am not. THey are just a little freaked at how much I am continuing to lose. My sis had this done 8 years ago and did very well but did not lose as fast as me and has a much taller frame so she looked different than me. That said she has kept all her weight off for 8 years and looks great! I used to wear a size 20 and am now in a size 4. I even have bought a few things out of the children's department (pjs, snow pants, some shirts) it is sooooo crazy! The only downfall is I have lost a lot of hair and never had a lot to start with so it is a bummer. Doc says if I ate more, especially protein, it would help. So that is where I am trying to educate myself now. I did not get much pre op teaching on the whole protein thing and feel a little behind. I go to the gym 4 or 5 days a week and love what I have been able to accomplish. This surgery was a gift for me to begin a healthy lifestyle and I am sooooo happy that I did it! To all you look and sound like you are experiencing great results keep it up!
Pre op on June 9, 2008 242
Current 145
Goal 140
90 pounds in 7 months!!!!!!!

I can't walk ANYWHERE in the BUFF because I look like a Char Pei (sp?).
Sherry, I looked back at your album - and you sure look like a different person! You aren't even recognizable. WOW!
I got a haircut yesterday, and my hair dresser said my hair was all coming back in - yay!
