Went on vacation... and LOST weight!!!
Just back from 10 days in Boston. I was at a family wedding with lots of food challenges - all survived successfully. Got home & weighed in - and I lost 4.5 pounds... which is okay, I guess, but it's an enormous amount in a short time compared with my usual pattern - not complaining, really, but since I'm very close to goal, I figure I should be losing very slowly.
This is weird.

Not at all weird.
It simply states you've mastered dealing with food challenges and can now make healthier choices.
Congrats on your achievement!

1.5lbs away from goal. Great for you!!!! That is so awesome.
I went on a cruise last month and lost 3.6 I was amazed cuz I feel like all I did for a week is eat and sleep.
I will be going to El Salvador on a mission trip on July 9-17 we shall she how that goes. I am suppose to live with a host family that only speaks spanish (I speak very little) and I believe they will be preparing some of my meals. I really hope all this works out. I think I will be helping in the kitchen a lot. If only just to see what is going in.
Great Job for the almost to goal.

Thanks everyone - the thing I thought was weird was not so much the withstanding the food challenges during vacation, but losing so much so quickly so close to goal.
People are telling me I'm too thin - and from the photos from vacation, I tend to agree. I don't mind another pound or two, but that really should be enough. I'm making a conscious effort to eat more - woohoo - this is scary too, since I have to eat six times a day to slow down the weight loss, and can't eat all that much at once - but I don't want to go back to my old style of eating everything in sight.
I expected to have my last few pounds be hard to lose, considering the tales I hear from you folks. What gives?
(and I don't want to upset folks who are having a hard time getting pounds to disappear - I'm just concerned that I may lose too much - not a problem I ever thought I'd have!)

Vacation weight loss.
What a strange phenomenon. I experienced something similar myself. I went to Vegas for 4 days, and took my wife, a customer, and his wife. I was on my expense account and I did a lot of entertaining (eating, shows, eating, lay by the pool, eating). I didn't do my normal exercise routine (walk 4 miles every morning) and I ate more than usual. I was worried I would have gained weight. When I got home and weighed myself, I actually lost over a pound! I wonder why that happens?

Is your body reacting to a little more food with less holding onto weight? I seem to remember hearing that small frequent meals is the key to losing weight faster. At any rate, congrats on the loss Phil! And Welcome back, we missed you.
