Default 1st day home, post op.

ugh...
Well I did it everyone, I finally did it!!!
I spent around 4 days in the hospital and came home a few hours ago. Im feeling good except for a few things, like my incision (ouchhhh when i move) and I can actually FEEL farts rumbling in my stomache. And since hubby wont leave my side I'm not getting any chances to let them out!!!!
Well doctor said everything went great and that I Was the easiest and quickest patient he's ever done the surgery on. And hubby filled my room with flowers it was amazing! All the nurses doted over him! The first few days all I got was water, some juice, and jello. but the weird thing is Ill take a sip or a bite and feel uncomfortably full. Now I can have some cream based soups, but arent those fattening? or does it not matter cos i wont take that much in? *confused*.
Can anyone give me an idea as to how long I'll hurt? I have around 4 incisions but just the one where the injection plate is hurts the most. And how much slower is the weight loss than GBS?? So what kind of loss should I expect? I wanted GBS but doc wouldnt go for it.
Anway, Im home and Im fine and while in the hospital couldnt wait to come back here and tell you all how ive been coming along. I Took before pics so in a few months Ill have something to compare them too! sitting up kinda hurts, so il check back in later. Good luck to everyone, and congrats to everyone else here whose had the surgery and is losing weight. Hang in there everyone. we'll get better.

Thumbs up Welcome home!

I wish you a quick and uneventful recovery! Welcome to the loosing side of life! The first week is "Hell Week" (so named by Christina). Once this week is over, you'll be feeling much better.

Congratulations!

Congratulations on jumping to the losers side. I will be joining you all there soon enough. From what I've heard you will be feeling better within a few days, and everyday gets better and better. Good luck.

Congratulations! I'm glad to hear you aren't feeling too badly. I think everybody here did the cream soups so I guess there is no problem with fat content. I had the open procedure so I can't help you out with the pain. Take your meds on schedule if you need them and if something doesn't seem just right call the doc ASAP. Good luck!

Contgrats!
The cream soups were the best thing in the whole world to me after drinking the broth for so many days. A few bites of everything made me full, but that will change. You will be able to eat a lot more as your pouch matures.

I just got home Saturday night from my hernia repair / tummy tuck and I thought I wasn't gonna be able to eat again....well here I am eating like I did before surgery. The nurse in the hospital kept trying to give me SUGAR! and I kept telling them I can't have it....they didn't listen very well because next meal.....I head sugar drinks, sugar jello, sugar this and that!

Best of luck to you....you will do just fine! Welcome to the losing side.

If youre worried about the fat content in cream soups, healthy choice makes a fat free or low fat line of them. I think campbells makes a lotfat version of them too... you just have to look for it. Good luck to ya and Congrats!! Youre gonna be so happy you did this!

Hey everyone thanks for replying. Thanks Misty he is a great hubby isnt he! Rain, I did something called lap band where they tie this band around your stomache to decrease its size and intake. that little plate is something they use to make the band looser or tighter. And I went with bro to the market, (I think I overdid it a bit cos now im in pain) and picked up some diet soups that have 60 calories and arent bad really.
wow dale...I just saw your weight. How does it feel being even lower than your goal?? you must be beaming!!!!!
